I truly believe if you create a Backyard Living Space it will dramatically change your life! I'm not talking about small changes to your life…I’m talking about MAJOR life changes for you and those you care about!
Here’s the holdup…. People don’t know how to Design "true" Backyard Living Spaces. They still think it’s about improving their “Landscape”. It’s NOT Landscaping anymore, it’s “OUTDOOR LIVING”!
No one wants a Landscape to look at. People want to "LIVE" in their Outdoor Space. They want an extension of their home, a Backyard Environment that will attract their loved ones while building the best memories - each season of the year.
I call myself the “Backyard Design Guy”. I have spent my life learning and teaching myself the art of Backyard Living Design and I want to Guide you through this process. You can have the Backyard Living Space of your Dreams without making all the mistakes. Listen to what I say on my channel and if you need anything ... just ask me.
I'm interested in doing a covering on a budget. I'm trying to think about what the priority might be in terms of what to cover. Should I cover the gas fire pit, the grilling area, the dining table? Is there a best thing to cover? We do have some large trees adjacent to our property that tend to drop tree junk down. Should I try to make my structure protect us from that or don't let it get hit by that? Thanks! Great videos!
Can a one use a Gabion wall as a flood wall at the perimeter of a backyard in a flood zone, where the creek is on the far side of the wall? In other words, could a wall such as this retain water?
I just got 13 pine trees cut down in my yard to get rid of the maintenance but now I have all this space that had so much potential. I have the perfect yard for destinations but it has so many boulders and obstacles, I don’t know where to start. I live in Spokane Washington. Please help me! 😊
Thank you for great inspiration. I have a large property with an awkward front door entrance. I’ve been looking for ideas on how to make the front entry area look & feel more welcoming, and have been toying with the idea of opening up our attached pergola as a welcome area as it is adjacent to our badly positioned front door. You’ve given me the courage to start planning.

May you give me an estimate on how much I would have to save to redue my front and backyard. I'm not ready, but it will redue both eventually. Salem, OR.
Doing my backyard on the cheap because it's what I can afford. We have a swim spa and then decided to put up pavers which was a great idea. It turns out swim spas get hot in florida so I built a pergola over it and added a sliding cover on cables that can be slid over to provide shade. In the spring I cut down a tree and chased the roots and started a concrete patio with the idea of installing a gazebo. We bought a kit and I installed that and modified the concrete to come up to the pavers. So far so good. I vere had a plan but it looks like I did. So far all in around 16,000.
It is good work and respected but hardly any of those designs would suit a british garden... might he the temperature difference but that set up would just look wet 98% of the year here in the UK.
Yeah that’s like ya 200k-250 k job. Who’s affording that? I’m here in PA and got 6 quotes for wall 1/3 the size of that job and was repeatedly given figures of 55-75k. Insane figures.
Living in south Texas, I can't imagine firepits, ugh, it's over 100° now. I must've stumbled upon the wrong video. Helpful for others. God bless y'all ❤
I continie to watch all of your youtube videos even after doing the modules in our DIY group and I just continue to learn something new all the time. We have been looking into a misting system to aide in our AZ summers to extend our backyard living thru more of the summer and I didn't even realize outdoor Evaporator coolers existed as a different viable option. Already researching them. Thanks again!
Another great video to showcase how to make your outdoor spaces actually livable and fun year round! Its the time of year to start looking at heaters! Lol. I'll be hitting you up for opinions on them soon.
