I truly believe if you create a Backyard Living Space it will dramatically change your life! I'm not talking about small changes to your life…I’m talking about MAJOR life changes for you and those you care about!
Here’s the holdup…. People don’t know how to Design "true" Backyard Living Spaces. They still think it’s about improving their “Landscape”. It’s NOT Landscaping anymore, it’s “OUTDOOR LIVING”!
No one wants a Landscape to look at. People want to "LIVE" in their Outdoor Space. They want an extension of their home, a Backyard Environment that will attract their loved ones while building the best memories - each season of the year.
I call myself the “Backyard Design Guy”. I have spent my life learning and teaching myself the art of Backyard Living Design and I want to Guide you through this process. You can have the Backyard Living Space of your Dreams without making all the mistakes. Listen to what I say on my channel and if you need anything ... just ask me.
Hello I hope you’re good. I have a square garden with a square grass patch in the middle. I have no idea how to design a garden around this, it’s quite small. Do you have any ideas ? Thanks
I have a sloped backyard that backs to (behind) a neighbor's flat backyard. I want a retaining seated wall perhaps. I don't have a large backyard, it's just long? wide. I'm in between two neighbors. I don't have a fence yet. can you help? Thank you,
I love your ideas me and the wife just purchased the house. Do you mind helping us design our new backyard? It has nothing but dirt right now would appreciate the help.
Why are so many people saying its not affordable. Go buy some 4x4 sink them in the ground and lay any boards across for a privacy screen. Or you can put a sun shade on it or the cheap bamboo straw
Minute 1:57...chef's kiss. I have a really small backyard compared to these but appreciated the variety and utility in even the smaller nooks and corners.
We live in Virginia Beach our outdoor area is full sun. We have a pool and a pergola and a somewhat out door kitchen. We need to tie it all in better. Also coverage from the sun.
I'm interested in doing a covering on a budget. I'm trying to think about what the priority might be in terms of what to cover. Should I cover the gas fire pit, the grilling area, the dining table? Is there a best thing to cover? We do have some large trees adjacent to our property that tend to drop tree junk down. Should I try to make my structure protect us from that or don't let it get hit by that? Thanks! Great videos!
Can a one use a Gabion wall as a flood wall at the perimeter of a backyard in a flood zone, where the creek is on the far side of the wall? In other words, could a wall such as this retain water?
Gabions slow down the flow of water through it which reduces erosion from flood events. They are used a lot in areas where there are flash floods or as gabion mattresses on stream/riverbanks or in earth channels so that the soil is not carried away during a flood event. Gabions act as a temporary dam with water leaving it at a much slower velocity than the initial flow entering the gabion. I have also seen them used as primitive bridges for foot traffic in shallow rivers. Using stainless steel extends the life of gabions to at least 50 years and the stainless steel only costs 20% more than galvanized steel. Cosmetically stainless steel is best. A quick and dirty solution to reduce flooding for a stream that is prone to flash flooding is a galvanized mesh/chain link tube filled with large rip rap/rocks and laced together with galvanized wire laid across the stream bed.
I just got 13 pine trees cut down in my yard to get rid of the maintenance but now I have all this space that had so much potential. I have the perfect yard for destinations but it has so many boulders and obstacles, I don’t know where to start. I live in Spokane Washington. Please help me! 😊
Thank you for great inspiration. I have a large property with an awkward front door entrance. I’ve been looking for ideas on how to make the front entry area look & feel more welcoming, and have been toying with the idea of opening up our attached pergola as a welcome area as it is adjacent to our badly positioned front door. You’ve given me the courage to start planning.
