You make good points but it depends on the house. For a small sq footage home, having outdoor space immediately outside the backdoor makes the house feel bigger. Mixing that up with alternative destinations can be optimal.
You may be surprised to find that having a destination and a “between” space between the backdoor and the destination will make the house feel larger then having everything right outside - the between space could be a dining table or even an outdoor sitting area. We are probably saying the same things - I just love that u have outdoor living ❤️
