We had several estimates on creating backyard living at our house, it was going to cost more than our house!! Be careful when designing that you don't over improve your house for the neighborhood & what your house might appraise at when you are ready to sell.
Of course. It sounds like you started with estimates and not a design? I would recommend getting a Design first so u have a clear vision. Then get apples to apples comparison bids for the project. If you start with just the estimate then there is no clear vision so all of the contractors are basically guessing on what you are looking for. The bids will ALWAYS be higher before you have a crystal clear vision. I hope this helps…. Also remember that you are increasing your value of your home and you will definitely get that value back (as long as you don’t over do it - like you were mentioning)
