Superman has robot guards in the fortress, that's been a thing since like the 70s. Braniac could have absolutely had a fight at the fortress! Come on man, this John Peters fella wasn't wrong on that. And let's be honest, the giant spider fight in The Flash was pretty rad.
Now I’m wondering if the new Beetlejuice film will at least reference “going Hawaiian”, in the same spirit as The Flash having a clip of Cage-El fighting the Thanagarian snare beast referenced in this video. 🤭
What’s kind of funny is you can see hints of what Jon Peters wanted in “Man of Steel.” Bryan Singer managed to get away with doing a pseudo-sequel to the Christopher Reeve movies, but Peters probably put his foot down for MoS. We got polar bears near Kal-El’s kryptonian ship and the World Engine doing some spider-type things in the 3rd act 😅
This is when I loved Kevin, like all the way up to Clerks 2 and then once he had his heart attack he changed and not for the better. He also sold out to Hollyweird.
Kevin Smith comes across like a dick. He said that about Tim Burton and never reached out to explain. How would Tim Burton know if he's joking or not? Also 89 Batman was an inspiration to him as a kid and now he's shiting on it! What a dick! Smith is a lying dick, who crys when someone says something bad about him.
I know mate, I never liked him either, he talks to much, and curses to much, he needs attention that's why he's always manic, hes bullshit. I don't like his film's. I never seen any of them only trailers... The only thing he wrote was a pretty good Daredevil story. He talks craps about other writers and directors, then he'll say something else about them..he back steps his comments. He's insignificant now.
None of Kevin's movies has the narrative heft of the way he tells this story lol, fucking hilarious story. Ive listened to this like 5 times over the years and it just gets better and better
More than just Hollywood moguls thinking they know more than everyone else, there are also legions of "yes men" who don't have the courage to ever tell them "No". Smith's story is revealing and entertaining, but he clearly did not have the guts to tell Peters that his ideas were idiotic because, as he said several times, "I didn't say that because I want the job."
De las escenas mas h j ptas de la serie. Don Eladio empieza alegre y despues todo termina de la manera mas oscura y qlera. Es de las escenas que jamas olvidare de esta série.
The most infuriating thing is, if this dumbass knew anything about Superman; some of his ideas could have worked. The giant spider? Brainiac is an octopus, but the spider body could’ve been a substitute. The fight at the Fortress of Solitude? Brainiac takes on the Superman androids or The Eradicator to absorb and collect all the Kryptonian knowledge he can. You want your own Chewbacca? Have Krypto Want your own Faye and effeminate gay guy? Brainiac V Superman can’t fly or use his suit? Just make this post death of Superman. The thing is I don’t think this guy was smart enough to know that all these things kinda happen and/or exist in Superman lore. And I don’t fault Smith for not telling him that, after all he wanted the job and in Hollywood where no one likes to be told ‘no’, doing so easily could’ve killed his career before it ever reached its heights
Jon Peters is insane but you’ve got to respect the fact that he clearly loves cinema and wants to bring the magic movie moments that he grew up with onto his productions, which is more that what you can say about most modern producers.
