Hi mate, great to see you back out on the banks again Russ 😊.. that place looks mint for a days fishing.... how have u been mate? Any planned trips to the Rivers coming up? 👍🎣
@@keithstandrin9861 Hi thanks for watching. If you go on BDAAS website theres a couple of maps. If your travelling from A1 to Fiskerton you will pass village shop on your left just further on you will pass Cooks Lane on your right the dirt track is a few hundred yards on your left takes you down to car park. If you see Gypsy Lane on your right you've then gone past dirt track to car park.
Hi there pal, I am heading over to the Trent tomorrow, going to try collingham, would you say its worth the trip up there? Or would you be able to suggest anywhere that way on worthy a go?
Hi, i rarely fish the Dearne but used to park in front of Thaal restaurant at Darfield and near Old Moor Tavern at Broomhill both safe parking and close to river. As for me doing ok. Thanks for watching vids 👍
Hi Russ,,love Yr videos mate. I literally just been to the fiskerton bdaas stretch to have a look around. It looks inviting. Do you know what time the carpark opens in the morning of 16th? And what's the chances of me getting a peg if I'm there first light? Been watching Yr videos for some time now and enjoy them.. please keep the videos coming as and when possible..
Hi thanks for watching my vids. Car park gates open at sunrise and are locked in June at 10pm on Barnsley & District Anglings Website. Plenty of pegs so should be ok on opening day of season.
@ukfishingvlog thanks for quick reply mate.im currently watching Yr video 61 lol.. thanks for info..I'll be there at 5am then lol.. I'll get the day ticket the day before from the p- office. Take care, all the best
Funny you putting a comment about the Korum reel being replaced with a Shimano. I have done the same. Korum rods I think are good value, but I have had a few Korum reels, and I think they are rubbish. One day I noticed the line clip was missing, e-mailed Preston to ask for a spare, and they didn't stock that model any more. Nice video, with no music.
Hi thanks for watching. In most cases you generally get what you pay for i actually liked the Korum reel especially the front drag but couldn't get spare part for it so out with the old in with the new.
As my other reels had braid or the wrong strength mono on, I dug out some old Okuma Interceptors recently. 20 odd years old, they've been used for everything from carping, dead baiting, harbour fishing, plus the kids used and abused them beach casting. First session out of retirement, one accounted for 9 pound barbel on a small river on an even older rod. The fish are interested in the bait and its presentation, the gear is for catching anglers.
Nice one Russ, great to see you back out on the Trent catching lovely Barbel again.. would love to go for a days fishing with you again Bud, let me know if you fancy it pal, loved your flood water vid last year, some great sport that 😮. All the best mate 👍🎣
Cheers Pete. Didn’t get out last week off was up early twice for Trent didn’t go have good n bad weeks with health. Hope your keeping well and enjoying your fishing Pal 🎣
@@ukfishingvlog sorry to hear to ain't feeling great still Russ... I was off last week with Chest infection, still ain't feeling... ain't been on the bank much lately... hope you get on the Trent again soon pal, best wishes mate n keep in touch fella 👍🎣
You may find it easier to play Barbel using your left hand to support the rod above its cork handle & use a finger of the other hand you have on the reel to control the spool drag. I used to do it your way but found this much smoother with more control of the fish. Just a suggestion, it works for me.
Thanks Steve old pal. Not fished the Dearne for Barbel for about six years had a few lure sessions for pike over last two years. Hope your keeping well old friend.
Thanks Paul its been a tough few years physically and mentally and i appreciate everyones kind compliments. Filmed another session to edit still will be back filming in a few weeks 😋
Thanks pal, yes i'm doing ok now PSA results not showing any Cancer so just trying to get back to normal. Just started filming fishing again. Thanks for watching
Hey Russ, I Personally don't care for c&r, Folks like to see the Catch-n-Cook! Didn't get the name of the fish,?R they good eating or? ? Sorry, but I won't follow, but you know how to Fish n Catch very well! Kinna hard to hear with the wind,😢, 🐟 on man. GBU.,SM.,NZ.,✌🙏
It's illegal to eat fish from rivers in the U.K and you wouldn't want to, without leaving anything you caught in a bathtub of clean water for a week, emptying and refilling every day anyway.
Think you're due some new reels, those Korums sounding a bit agricultural 🙂 Okuma Aventa Baitfeeders in 6000 size are perfect for Barbel and i'd highly recommend them. 👍
Heading to the Trent for the first time when The kids break up for the six week hols. Il be based near gunthorpe for 5 days. Any tips of where to fish in the day time for barbel ???
Gunthorpe would be a starting point right down to Collingham. River is low and clear so gonna be tough going just now as i and a dozen other anglers found out below Cromwell weir yesterday. Managed to scrape two out but some blanked.
Always enjoy your videos great to see you back at it and hope you are keeping well ! Love your dearne an don videos as both run through my town lol fetched back many o great memory’s ! Great stuff
Cheers Pete. Depends how far across i’m fishing if a boat is passing between me and where i cast i will reel in, if its just going over where i cast its usually ok but depends how deep it is usually its at least seven ft deep where i fish. Best advice is see where your line enters water in relation to a boat. Thanks for watching
The brolly is a Daiwa 90 inch storm brolly with 8mm fibreglass ribs i’ve had it six years now and still going strong. Think they replaced it with the Daiwa Powerbeam brolly. Thanks for watching Pete 🎣
Enjoy your videos, excellent fishing and fish care. You caught fiskerton on a rare day, usually its rammed with the barbel gestapo (knights of the field). As a former Barnsley ticket holder for many years, I won't visit that place again until the retoree tourists old boys club night syndicate have all died off and it goes back to fishing for genuine river anglers who fished it for years. Tight lines mate
