So sad that my mom had one of these since I was a kid. She passed it down to me & I let someone detail it & they took it out for a drive and totaled the car. Pretty sad because I really could’ve used the car right now in life
Absolutely badass but you can keep the manual swap. This engine with the auto and trans tune absolutely fucks. Stays in the torque way better than this. If i was going to make something like an e92 m3 clone diesel maybe manual would be fun but not for a family wagon. Also The 35d auto trans is way stronger than it needs to be. Youll never have issues with it. If youve ever ridden a high hp diesel truck with a built auto transmission you know how superior it is to manual diesel. No comparison
Great test & awesome dog 😂. Do you think the manual or auto transmission with manual option is better for this scenario? . I wanted my friend to buy an X5 before he bought his 740il . One thing I love about the X5 is the tail gate, makes it feel like a truck .
I'm just glad that we finally got to the point where I dont feel the need to puke because I see so much smoke but finally something that actually does something other than just rolling coal
i'm doing with a crack in the side of my radiator where the composite material is a.k.a. plastic it was crazy I couldn't see the crack for the longest time I could see the coolant coming out but there was a boat connection point above the crack so it was restricting my view and I couldn't see anything really that well until I took the bumper off and yeah fun fun I put some JB weld clear epoxy shit on it last night. Hopefully it holds. I'm gonna go out and check it out in a minute, but, yeah I got a new radiator showing up and a bunch of hoses I drive a Chevy Cruz so I'm fucked but you know we do what we can do
I have a tuned e91 335 with full e90 m3 rear subframe, suspension and brakes and I love it, wicked quick but quite and low key, unlike the new m3 wagon😂
Awesome build . Watch your videos all the time. Curious of what rear end you’re running and if you need to strengthen the rear strut mount support? I have a NV m62 in my 94 530i and it’s fun , but I’ve always wanted to do this swap, If not a 6L LS.
I'm guessing that cost was the driving factor behind that particular engine choice? I would definitely have wanted to go with an aluminum or even one of the magnesium-overcast aluminum blocks from BMW if I were going through all the trouble of a more modern engine swap on a car like that. Anything to add lightness without impacting usability and curb appeal. Iron blocks do have the benefit of accepting quite a lot of boost before they explode, so there's that, I guess.
I enjoyed that video. I purchased My b m w this march. It is an automatic. It is a fun car. Now something is wrong with the windshield wipers. It is not they fuse. It will be the first to the shop. My other vehicle is a two thousand nissan frontier. I love love love my truck. And now I have a fun Car. I suppose I will just have to learn how to fix some things on it. The video was fun you did a great job.
How much are they worth I got one that is really fucken Awsome and I’m in need of cash but I’ve seen them from 7 k up to like 19k pm me if your interested at takeing a look at it
I'm looking at one of these, did they make a manual with the facelifted e53? I've only seen pre facelift manuals which I'm wary of because I've heard the post FL are more reliable, better tranmission etc. Any idea of the mpg?
Great project, friend, I greet you from Ecuador, we are working on the e30 M62 engine project, have you documented the adaptation of the engine and the gearbox? Would you help me with our project?
