Hola! Thanks for the video, I had heard about you trying the EV9 with a trailer and I was surprised to see that gigantic caravan, impressive! I have a Kia EV6 AWD with a caravan of about 1000 Kg, my average consumption is approximately 34kWh/100, in my case I consider that the consumption is high due to the frontal surface of the caravan, it measures 2.5m wide, 2.5m high and 6m long Apart from the weight, you have to take into account the aerodynamics of the caravan, this makes it penalize the consumption a lot, since the resistance produced by the caravan is very high Regarding the trailer mode, in my EV6 it deactivates rear sensors, activates all-wheel drive and the regeneration is manual from 0 to 3, the LKAS and other aids work, including the blind spot! When driving such a wide caravan, I am surprised that the blind spot works while driving. The HEAD UP Display shows me the lane occupied warnings, which I thought would cancel it. The EV6's range with my caravan is 244 km at full charge, but my experience tells me that this is IMPOSSIBLE. In the best case scenario, it is around 200 km with a full charge. From 10 to 80%, 160 km is very optimistic. The advantage of the EGMP platform is that it charges very quickly, and from 10 to 90% it charges in 24 minutes on +250kW chargers.
I just purchased tne Enyaq Coupe ..and it's my first EV.. and I think this is my biggest fear going to a long distance drive, and then at 5% at the charger... the charger does not work.. and refuse to work..would suck soooo bad..
Which means EX30 is higher in price and less with comfort but EX30 is made for fast or quick or low range one or two persons and use back seats with trunk then one gets more space though.............But VOLVO didnt succeed with EX30. EX40 abviously much better comparison to EX30 and XC60 even better and best EX90 but we all are missing EX60 instead came EC40/C40 got many complications with 360 camera view and few other things therefore i wouldnt buy wether EX30 and C40, dont know why VOLVO made these two and flopped due to all complaintments issues well VOLVO wouldnt agree.........
Just got my EX30 Ultra TM having previously had Polestar P2. Volvo need to have a chat with their colleagues in Polestar, they listened, learnt and resolved nearly all of these issues 3 years ago.
Hve you tried the smart #1? It has a plusher, larger seat, it has physical buttons on the steering wheel and a HUD. It's also a bit better packaged, especially for the rear passengers. And in Brabus trim doesn't look overly happy (and you can now disable the fox).
Thanks, very helpful. Was hoping to find out how you charge the blok key or key fob? And does it come with the charging wire - if it does, I haven't found it.
Thanks for this and agreed “give us a normal key… …this is very cheap”. Not only is it cheap, it does not work. It’s utterly annoying, we leave in the Middle East and as soon as the door handle gets hot, forget the keyless entry. This is more annoying the what I thought
So I’m going to have a bit of a rant over the dumbest “key” ever created. Who ever thought this was a good idea, really needs to be stopped from ever designing anything ever again. The fob, it’s supposed to open the car when you get close and lock when you walk away. I’ve had my car a month and can count on one hand how many times this has happened, it’s useless, I have to find the fob ( no room for a key ring to help find it) put on the drivers door sensors and hope it opens, but then not always if it’s in the wrong position or spot, no way on opening the boot when away from the car, like every other car I’ve had in the last 10 years with a power boot, walk up to the car, hope it connects then press the button, if not walk to the drivers door, then walk back. Why is there no sensor on the boot or passenger door ? Then the card, even worse. No distance sensor, only open the drives door and has to go on the wireless charging port. Why? £40k for a car that you can’t open, might as well have given us an old fashion key like I had on my first car 30 years ago. Absolutely the most stupid and ridiculous thing ever. I know, 1st world problems. But still £40k, I want a key that works. Can the be forwarded to Volvo?
ALL parking systems work on the 2 adjoining cars being parked perfectly in the lines for your car to park perfectly in your lines otherwise it just parks Evelyn between the 2. My BMW 7 series did the same
I found out last week testdriving with my small Eriba caravan the ACC is not available. this is horrible and is basically a programming issue. and the stupidest EVER @volvo.... XC40 of the same production month is not having this issue. Volvo needs to fix this asap.
I picked the EX 30 Ultra over EX 40 (for two people). Way more modern and more Tech than the more old fashioned EX 40. By the way, I find Mist interior a lot nicer than the denim, unlike you - so good with different options.
Got a tesla M3 myself but kinda had enough of Musk and his idiotic manners. Also don’t feel like indirectly sponsoring Trump. So instead of a MY im now considering this or a Audi Q4 sportback.
I also have this VPCS and it is working really bad for me. I had my Volvo to a service station yesterday to have the software updated. It still doesn't work as advertised. I can only charge using the Volvo app at the moment and I am REALLY hoping the RFID card or tag will improve things. It is being shipped from Germany to Sweden and VPCS support said it will take about two weeks for the RFID to ship. Sounds really slow to me, but okay.
I bought the core versión in Spain, and I think is even more annoying than you say. When you have to put something in the trunk or just put your baby or dog inside, you need to go first to the driver door, perhaps leave alone your dog/baby, then go to the door you want to use and come back to the driver door. Who said that travel the past is not possible?
The Volvo is superior in driving, with plenty of power, and I find the interior design (and seats) modern, minimalistic and cool. No need for buttons or HUD (give it two days). Great with the scandinavian design and chinese tech combo.
I have driven this car today. Beautiful car but terrible chairs. Furthermore is has poor regenerative response, poor safety features and poor quality rear camera. Definitely a NO for me.
I drove it today & loved it. Seats are great & seat htg is very soothing on my bad back. Renault have the highest safety stars, air bags everywhere & usual crash crumpling safety areas. The Techno has a rear view camera & the rearview mirror is normal but not a fan of auto dimming. Manual choice is best. But choose what suits you. This rings all my bells.
I’m assuming you didn’t drive the Alpine spec? The low spec and the highest spec Iconic seats are awful but the sports seats in the Alpine way better. The wheels are nicer on the Alpine too. Iv ordered one
Thanks for posting your videos. I’ve just ordered a one with the single motor extended range in Moss Yellow in the UK. Would love to see a video of Apple CarPlay if possible. Thanks again for all the useful videos - it’s my first fully-electric car, so really good info to know 😀😀
