Just wondering. I've been down a few times on the M62, going passed Leeds. I may be totally wrong, so forgive me on this, but if the M1(N) is bad to get on, would it be better to carry on past that junction, to the A1(N) turnoff. Not sure if there's a junction off the A1 to get on the A64 towards York, as I noticed the traffic was sailing past on the main M62 carriageway. I remember being stopped at a railway crossing in Northumberland, after visiting Seahouses, and boy, did we have a treat. It was a steam train, pulling carriages and full pelt. It was really going fast. Amazing sight to see. The reason why Bradford, Birmingham, London and other places, is that there's a lot of foreign drivers who live in this country, who do not know the Highway Code or anyone who don't want to know it. Talking about caravans. Me and my hubby started off camping with a frame tent, then onto trailer tents, then folding campers, and finished up with a caravan. Have done all the UK, and most of Europe. The furthest east has been Yugoslavia as it was back then, done West Germany, Holland, Belgium and France. France is probably the best for camping, every site has a swimming pool, and a restaurant/cafe, which are nearly always the best. My mainecoon cat, Timber, has been with us in the caravan all over the UK, but not quite made it to Scotland, although, as the crow flies, he was around 200 yards near to the border, at just outside Berwick-upon-Tweed. If you've never been camping/caravanning, go onto the Caravan Talk Forum. They are a font of information. I would suggest getting a damp reader, and check for damp. Too much, and its a no-no.
Thanks for all the information and bliney you’ve been to some places with the caravan, we’re looking at maybe south of France next year for a few weeks 🤞🏻
Love the content Darren, keep it up! On the subject of strange speed limits, there’s a garden centre near Milton Keynes that I sometimes deliver to with a speed limit of 4 3/4mph! 😅
Two things Darren: 1: 9 1/2 mph that's very specific and very silly. The owner must really math for the speed limit to be that specific. 2: The train that passed @ 18:01 is a Class 170 Turbostar for Northern Rail. The exact unit # I can't tell you for it's gone to fast and a weird angle. Those units aren't the newest. Those were being bought from ScotRail, rail transport company from Scotland. 3: Reminds of a time when they shut a side street at least three blocks to the bay and car and truck drivers would go down my street thinking they would be able to cut out the lights and met face to face with a dead end. Car drivers are fine. Truck drivers not so much. Then after Covid, they reopen it. Idk why they shut the last three blocks off but it sure made a hell of a mess.
Great video mate, Enjoyed watching it! Thanks for taking us along! Fancy sat nav taking you down there but corrected yourself with ease 👌🏼 Made it look easy! .. Funny you should mention Caravans, Been talking to a lad at work last few days about them he has one in Anglesey and is always going with his kids, Said he’s saved a fortune by going there instead of abroad and the kids love it, Says it’s a different life down in Wales! They go Snorkeling and all sorts.. I would love one myself too, Get away for a weekend just relax. Some of the Lodges look mega! But some are also like 200k 😂 Did you end up buying the Caravan? Take care mate have a good weekend 🤙🏼
No didn’t buy it in the end as it needed a little work doing to it, so going to a caravan sales place tomorrow to have a better idea what to get, but it would be great to get one as I’d prolly end up going south France etc in it too 🫣 but it’s all about making memories for little man
Not only an entertaining video, as per usual but still with those little tips for others, like snaking the trailer slightly to get a better view down each side. Have a great weekend Darren. P.S. As for strange speed limits, old depot at Sheffield has 11 mph limit. No idea why.
William Wallace took the duke of York's head off and sent it to the king of England lol times have changed now, on other news got me jag back today , a worn wire , only took 2hrs labour off me a good jaguar indy garage in Clydebank that i use also gave me a loan car , no charge great personnel service , Elite land rover Jaguar in Clydebank Scotland , Recommend
Another lovely video to Yorkshire. The little hump bridge was Stamford Bridge where a battle took place in 1066, When the English King Harold was successful . The view from the top of the hill, which is called Garrowby Hill is breathtaking, you can see right across the vale of York to the Dales. It would be a nice place to go with your Caravan.
Hello Darren, that’s funny the 9 1/2 mph. It reminded me of when I went to Las Vegas with my brother. He drives a truck and in their yard it says 4 1/2 miles an hour in yard. I thought that was kind of silly but anyways buddy, be safe. Thank you for taking me along, you’re an awesome bloke peace, and God bless💯🙏🇺🇸🇬🇧
I’m like a little kid with tunnels too mate, I have to beep my horn when I go through them. Nothing more satisfying than a truckers horn in a tunnel lol
As Biker yes there are some right wallys out there majority idiots on 2 wheels those food couriers all on L plates. As Motorcyclist legal to filter although it's about using some common sense don't do it down left side of coach or HGV risk being in Driver blind spot, half these numpty took test tried behaviour in video be instant failure on driving licence test. If I'm riding HGV trying get out I usually flash him pull out as too many arrogant individuals on 4 wheels won't give two hoots u wanting get out Darren.
I always take a bit more care on the road with the first bit of rain after a long dry period, really brings up all the crap that's been compacted into the road surface. It's nuts the amount of people who still bomb it round when it's that slippery 😬
So you're driving the Greek God of War with that truck Darren🤣🤣. M66 is from Bury up to around the Accrington area and ends at the M65. Going by the Nemises, I guess all the trucks are named after the Greek Gods?
lol my jag is into the indy specialists, just now seems to have a wiring problem , so i have a loan car from them its a small seat , not to bad its only 3 year old but a manual , i miss the big jag , hope its back by Friday , the rear drivers side window would not go down or up , but have warranty so it should be covered just the inconvenience , you work long hours so glad to see you enjoying time with the family . i don't like zoos unfortunately its cruelty to keep big animal's behind bars but hope the wee guy had fun , keep on trucking
Just watching your video Darren. Have been over this motorway loads of times, but I don't think the highest point is 12,000ft. More like 1,200. Ben Nevis is only 4,000ft+. The sign does say its the highest motorway in England, but I do think you're correct on this part🤣. Nice to listen to your experiences. My thoughts are always "less haste, more speed". Watching your cooker. We used to have one of them when me and other half had an allotment. Could do a full English. Brilliant things to have😊. Where games are concerned. I just wish I could get to play my Half-Life, green, orange and blue. Had to give that game up as it only played on Windows 7. Brilliant game
Came across this channel today and I'm in full binge watching territory! What a great channel. You are a very likeable character my friend, keep doing what your doing. Love these videos. All the best from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺
I don't comment alot, more of a lurker, but I love your videos Darren, Not alot of people can talk alot while doing these videos and I think thats a skill in itself. Keep them coming!
your young Darren. then you get younger guys coming into the trap. look on the map. it takes time too get there. quite a challenge really. little kids . stay safe chap..
Weird to see the malcolms trucks there just at haydock as you crossed the M6, used to do that through the night, talking about malcolms trucks, have you ever seen a unit with 2 seats behind the driver instead of a bed ? My unit today was like that, use it for training but felt quite weird 😅 nice video again. Hope the wee man had a good day at the theme park 🎢 enjoy your day off with him you deserve it ✌️
@Life_of_Darren see when you said you had 17 pallets to collect, how do you secure the last one? I'd imagine that sits at the back alone with nothing by its side. Does it not wobble about even with a ratchet strap 🤔?
I`m in Scotland and find it strangely therapeutic watching you work while I have a beer. I always fancied intercontinental driving when I was young but ended up Plumbing 😅😅
That was a big beast you had to drive to collect the MAN from the garage... Did you have to have a police escort?😅😅... Your vlogs are far better than a certain truck driver has on You Tube..... In other words, you're not full of your own self importance. You probably know who I'm on about but I'm not going to mention name's.
Happy birthday to little man, Get him a little gift from me mate, Such a lovely family. Thank you for all the vlogs. I really appreciate all the work you put into them for us. Enjoy your time off mate, Catch you on the next one 👊
Nice one Darren . Happy Birthday Little Man , hope you are better. Get Daddy to take you to Greggs - its his favourite . Don`t tell Mummy though as she will have made him a salad .
