World of Felco is part of one of the UK's leading garden centres, Sunshine Garden Centre (est. 1990). When it came to looking for an exclusive brand of secateurs to distribute online, the choice was easy - Felco. WorldofFelco.co.uk is now one of the UK's largest independent online retailers of Felco products. Trading online since 2002.
It looked very easy to cut your hand badly if you mishandled the blades. No mention of any precautions one might take. As others have said, the sharpening technique was poorly covered. No mention of the anvil and that it does not need attention (if that is the case).
Hi all, a few of you have asked for a close-up of us using the Felco 905 - hopefully this helps - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-saW1rKTkAtE.html - please let us know in the comments what you think and subscribe to us if you would like to see more information and news on new products

Hi @janicemitchell5783 Thanks for your comment. The cog wheel sets the tension between the blades. Once you have tightened this to your desired tension, then you use the opposing cogged screw to fix this into place. Check out our video "How to Service Felco Secateurs" to see how to maintain and adjust your secaterus to your liking - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IP7fgnUvp_w.htmlsi=sqWoAPEIZGz7uR2H All the best, World of Felco
But in reality, Felco has such hopelessly bad logistics and communication, the quality (which I don't contest), along with the entire product line, can just as well not exist. Don't take my word for it. Go shopping this weekend and look at what is on the shelves: China, China, China! Then try contacting Felco, offering to stock their products and even reserve parts in your own shop. No reply, year after year. Next, try contacting their so-called "distributors". You will then learn they don't usually stock or sell Felco, don't know much about the products, only sell a small subset of products and don't deal with spare parts. Felco might well know something I don't about this industry. I am, however, qualified to say my shop won't sell Felco, because I can't, and not for lack of trying.
What is the spray, is it some sort of machine or mineral oil. I cut veg and herbs with my secateurs I’m not too keen on eating the oil. Is olive oil ok to use to protect from rust?
Give this technique a go to get some more leverage on the adjustment key - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dnytoQ4l4aU.htmlsi=pnX6Bd7rjTCos1Ny&t=8
@@worldoffelco I really like your Falco products and have two rotating handles and 3 fixed handles. We use your products at Disney World exclusively. Can’t say enough good about them
What to do if the locking washer won’t come loose @13 seconds in? I’ve used penetrating oil and some heat but it won’t budge at all even with the right tool as shown.
Hi Snailboy5610, there must be some grit in there somewhere. Instead of the tool i would suggest trying some grip or pliers on the flat side of that centre cog and seeing whether you can undo it that way. Alternatively the official Felco website offers servicing, which is reasonably priced too - details can be found here - www.felcoservicing.co.uk/
Great video, needs a tiny slow down / expanded view of the very last bit that you put together: the thumb catch that closes the secateurs when not in use - the little washer goes on the handle and then the catch and screw. But this is not clear from the video (but is clear to see from the Felco packaging). I also use an unfolded paperclip to get dirt out of various holes that get full of gunge after cleaning. Have you considered selling the Niwaki Crean Mate? A great eco-friendly invention, saves on all the plastic and petro chems associated with solvent cleaners etc. Thanks for a great video. 2 pairs cleaned yesterday!
Good point regarding the washer - in hindsight, i should have zoomed in on that bit. In regards to the Niwaki Crean, we only sell Felco products, but I will look into that nevertheless
The Okatsune website suggests sharpening the cutting blade on both sides. On the inside, it is proposed to make a small chamfer at an angle of 15 degrees. On the outside, a larger chamfer is made at an angle of 23 degrees. Can you specify the same for Felco pruners. And also, what is the purpose of the chamfer on the inside?

Great secateurs and my wife has a few pairs but as I’m the maintenance man. I strip them down after every use and clean off with clothes soap as it’s cheaper for one and really deep cleans, then protect.
On another video heard the presenter say he had a pair of roll handled Felcos ten years, and they would last another ten years. If they will only last him twenty years I certainly would not let him borrow mine. I purchased them over forty years ago and they are still going strong. They have been well used asI worked in wholesale nurseries one of my jobs was collecting cuttings, understock for stenting, scions and each year removing Black Berries.
Can this stone run out? I've been using it for 10 years/ or more on my knives and secateurs- it's still amazing/ going strong- but can the diamond coating wear through? Or is the diamond embedded all the way through the metal?
Great question and something that we spoke about in here a few days ago. the one on my desk has been used without fail over the last 8 years. I reckon it is still as strong now as it was originally. The chances are that I will lose it before needing another one from wear and tear!
2:00 it feels like when using the. 905 to sharpen my Felcos the edge of the blade hits the top of the V channel and doesn’t really sharpen them. Am I doing this wrong?
Hi @jesusalexisjuarezescalante2522 it is unlikely the spring has an issue, but the main mechanism on the secateurs might be too tight. You should loosen the main nut to acheive a looser secateurs
To have a Felco is a investment for centuries. My first 7 is from 1979 / 43 years and still perfect in her work. My model 6 was lost in the vineyard in the grape harvest time in October. I found her again in march, a little bit rusty but… some days covered in WD 40 liquid and she was new again. No pruning tool in the world is better…
@@luticpagan3549 no, it was the small one, the Nr. 6 this is also a very fine one, good to handle and also good for precise smaller cuttings like cut the grapes 🍇 in summer in one half for premium Productions or doing finer smaller work on the plants. For my work, I use two Nr. 7 one the smaller one, the Nr. 6. for all workmen the garden, vineyard and around the year.
They are worth every penny, I’ve had my #2’s for over 35 years. Only replacing the blade once! My #7s are probably over 30 years old. Take care of them and they will last a lifetime!

So disappointed when I bought some Felcos. I accidentally threw them in the waste with the clippings. So disappointed. I bought some cheaper ones and they are, well, crap.
The most versatile 310 is worthy of a mention . . . excellent for everything from light pruning, deadheading, trimming, flower arranging . . . the list is endless . . . . I have gifted several pairs over the years . . . always with overwhelming gratitude!!! I even have a "kitchen" pair . . . wouldn't be without them . . .
The 903 Diamond Sharpener is for regular use, the 902 stone is for infrequent use. If you used a diamond sharpener regularly, then your secateurs would probably not get to the stage of needing the 902 stone
