Every term I’ve heard will have a negative pushback. I don’t live in “polite society” so I can’t care about those social situations, but I have to go with “person”. Or lobster. Okay, I digress. And I’ve been married for 27 years (10 years unhappily) so I only know “husband” but if I were to ever have a new relationship (what even does that word imply while questioning shit?) I would say “Hi Erin, this is Steve; Steve, this is Erin.” Of course using the proper etiquette of who gets introduced first…. based of the aforementioned arbitrary etiquette rules that mean nothing other than a way to separate the special people from the lowlier people. Cuz we gotta have clear definitions of one’s station so we know how to behave/treat people; which dictates how a proper introduction is to be conducted. Tell me I’m wrong. I digressed again, so let me clarify that my tangent is regarding etiquette rules, not common courtesy and respect/regard for fellow humans. If we need rules for that, then I’m out.
