Thank you a lot for this. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. I recently had this happen boxing and was wondering what the heck was going on. Now I know and will seek treatment. I wish your office was in Vegas.
On the money. I’m a right handed golfer that also does a lot of straight bar curls and reverse hammer curls. Every once in a while one of those activities pinches my wrist so hard I can barely pick up 10 lbs. Usually a few days rest and Advil makes it go away .. only to return if I over do it again or hit an iron shot fat.
After having several knee injuries torn ligaments and my knee bending backwards and sideways starting 2 years ago, the baker's cyst started to get really large and I am not able to bend my left leg even at a 90° angle without extreme pain and I have been experiencing extreme pins and needles all over my legs and feet along with stabbing pains and if I do sit down and my knee will then go for my chair after 10 minutes my left leg is completely numb with pins and needles in my feet. For the last 45 years I have walked six miles every single night so I was also at the gym several hours every other day off and on for the last 40 years. But I was completely cringing I'm watching both of these needles go in so for me I would need to have a general anesthetic tired of having this in office procedure which I am scheduling hopefully this coming week
Had a TKR last March and going for a Baker Cyst drain this week. My range of motion is limited due to the Baker Cyst and tough to do things I generally due at 72. Thanks for the video and helpful for me to understand what is going to take place.
I had a very large bakers for many years and finally had it removed, Not Understanding it would come back. I just cried when I felt the awful pain. Now I think I may be getting 1 in my other knee.
Thank Doc for this Video. I have a Ganglion Cyst size 0.4cm x0.4 cm x 0.2cm overlying the right acromioclavicular joint at the back and its painful. I was asked to do MRI and ultrasound and undergoing Physiotherapy but the pain still persist. Your help will be much appreciated.
Me too, had pain on and off with this for years (as a golfer), but started playing Pickleball last few months and the pain is more presistent. Using a wrist support is helping.
Just found this video and LOVE to see a Dr. who lifts weights! I've been lifting for 25 years and am experiencing this same type of pain. Many thanks for your service in doing this video for us!
I used heat therapy to (1) relax the valve in the fill tube and (2) increase the pressure in the cyst. It was just a layman mechanic thinking but it worked and never returned.
This is an in office procedure for what type of physician? Is aspiration necessary? Will it return? Can you continue with sports (pickleball)? I understand you should strengthen your glutes. Is aspiration a short term fix?
What does it feel like to have the Baker's cyst? Behind my knees feels very tight to where I have difficultly moving around, straightening my legs and absolutely trying to get into a squatting or bend my legs to get to the floor. Hurts terribly even just in bed trying to move from side to side. Although If the day is nice and I can walk, after a while it loosens up. Surprisingly, Advil helps tremendously, but I don't want to be taking it daily. This has been going on for over 3 weeks. I think I over did it playing pickleball and not stretching prior. Any feedback?
I had tennis and golfers elbow with ulnar surgery. Now my nerve in inside of elbow is super sensitive and I can not use a mouse or keyboard without pain to wrist to elbow. Plus I just had major surgery for a ruptured rotator cuff
I get sharp pains in that area when the lower part of my arms are pushed or flexed in too far. Makes it hard to fo top buttons up or wash my neck in the shower. Could this be the problem?
Yup same as me ,now the sharp pain stopped after like 8 months but I still have ache in the place , cant flex bicep, just about flex tricep when I do bicep feels weird n reckon if I do a dead lift pew goes left arm 😂 all this an no initial accident just started getting sharp pain one day and hant even been training at this pain for months ! Good luck 💪🏾
goalkeeper from soccer here, i think i overtrained myself (i train 2-3 times a day) and it manifested into this intense wrist pain I felt after a training that basically left my wrist immobile for 3 days. now, i’ve rested about a week and I was wondering if (assuming i feel little to no pain now) it would be safe to continue training with tape around the wrist for stability? thank you!
It’s great to hear from a doctor on what to look for in a doctor. Most doctors are looking only to get to the next patient by giving medication not taking care of the patient and listening to their true needs.
Ive been doing these excercises you prescibed for at least 12 weeks now. I couldnt curl over 15lbs and now im at 45. But, the pain still persists. I cant contract the bicep all the way. Is it because i am using heavyier weight than i shoudl be?
