I got mine while in the Canadian Navy in 1976. Later carried it as a police EOD Bomb disposal officer in the 80's and as a game ranger in Africa 90's to early 2000's. Now I train rangers in SE Asia. I still have it, and it still works fine.
Hi Wooly, can I ask, in your experience, how warm is the jacket vs the 3 in 1? I am looking for something for the winter, I am often out shooting, so I want something I move in, I don't want lots and lots of layers. Cheers
The 3 in 1 is fairly lightweight compared to this one but better waterproof, if your looking something lightweight, waterproof that you don't mind trashing, I'd look at military surplus goretex
Not this model, but have a pair of Aku GTX combat boots - very comfy, but the soles on that version suck at freezing temps. Hopefully a different compound on the pair you were sent.
Woooly I might roll the dice in these, they have limited stock and are to be discontinued. I’ve never ordered from here and these will be my first outdoor pants. Please help me with the sizing it’s cabbaging my head, even with the imperial calculator on site lol I need a W42, its works out to be an XL on the site, surely that can’t be right. I’d be at least a 2 or 3xl..?? Please help…!!
Yesssss wooly, you legend. Jacket looks good and cheap too, I’ve not seen this brand before, don’t like the teal colour but looks good and a good fit on you. Can you help me choose some good outdoor pants that aren’t gonna break the bank like the vidda pro. I’ve looked at the pilgrim pants and race revolution but I’m not entirely convinced on either. Any suggestions? Thanks mate
@@RedBranchBushcraft not a bad thing tbh - i found the KS14 always a bit on the "too warm side". btw gotten me a pair of Minvera KS19 last time in the surplus-store. not bad so far, could be a tad wider, lets see if this changes by wearing them. (WAY better than the KS14, not as good as the Lowa Elite Pro, comparing good to Meindl heavys (lowa and Meindl from surplus germ. army) still looking for some good summer-boots though (the yaix ehm haix desert boots (also germ surplus) are a catastrophy))

I have just got the version 3 of this hoodie, in XL, it feels real nice, and is a good fit. Bearskin is a little lighter than the helikon tex liberty jacket fleece that I have been wearing the last couple of years. I would say the helikon tex feels a little better quality on the fleece and the zips, But for the price ( Helikon Tex £75 VS Baerskin V3 £54) I got the Baerskin it was a good buy and I am now considering the 3 in 1, If i can get the 20% off voucher to work on the 3 in 1 then it could well end up in the basket. The Baerskin V3 does fit under a CCE french goretex jacket very nicely so will be my winter greenlaning jacket of choice. Cheers for the great content I enjoy watching.
I was waiting for you to drop the 4.0 video I had seen that you were on the official 4.0 commercial that bearskin dropped so I figured judging by your past videos with baerskin that you would have dropped the 4.0 review i enjoy your content thanks for another great one One question I have is the 4.0 a little longer in length than the 3.0
@punisher288 this is a skip of a bag, massive , it was too big for what I needed, I ended up sticking with the 60 liter version, a better size for me. I find the quality of Berghaus bags to be amazing, doesn't matter which one you get it will be excellent
Im tempted to buy a softshell jacket but not sure about size. Someone should do a video of how to get correct size. I measured my chest but does that allow for jumper underneath or should i go up a size to allow for winter clothes?
Highly recommend keeping to review/feedback when you title a video “Review”. This video would have been better titled something along the lines of “Soggy Teepee setup and disappointment with the weather”
I love mine - great trousers. If you are giving Varusteleka any feedback I would say lose the button flies as they are just a phaff (especially with cold wet hands) and the tighteners at the bottom should be either elastic or tied at the rear as at the front is just a pain in the arse. So sad to see the Sarma Outdoor pants are being discontinued as I would agree with you they are a Fjallraven killer.
Gotten me these pants, too (non-camo though. people look strange at you when wearing camo ;) - what i would improve: 1. SHORTER LEGS (seriously they're long, especially when the fitness-level doesn't give you the "standard body-size" and you need to buy larger) (it'd be also easily done: all sizes for "short, regular, long" and good. no ties to close the legs (old-school rubber-bands to be mounted manually do the trick, too), only cut them in length, sew them up and go for it) 2. making the legs not as wide in the lower areas, they tend to balloon out (should use the same shape as they do for the tactical jeans) 3. knee-protectors should be able to take in "standard" protectors, and possibly even hight-adjustable mounting (see point 1 ;) 4. zippers for fly and cargo-pockets. (they're just more sturdy than velcro or buttons)
@@TeurastajaNexus well, IMHO, they copied the old BDU-pants 1:1. including the negativ part. eg. no zipper or knee protector (which, after two kneesurgerys, would help me galore - but i can't find fitting protectors i can mount there). but yeah, they are good - just can be improved
