What you need is a folding bike, they take up less room than a regular bike which is pretty nice in a tightly packed city like NYC. You can attach racks and panniers to them, allowing you to take quite a bit of stuff and when you're done, just fold it, put it in a bag and take it with you. Some people have gone touring around the world on folding bikes, so we know they can take a beating. Quality components are available online for a good price allowing you to buy a used folder and upgrade it over time to become the ultimate urban ripper. You could even turn it into an electric folding bike!
Cool as hell. Also, if the battery meter is anything like other ebikes or scooters, it probably went down and back up when throttling hard because of voltage sag, where heavy use can lower the pack's voltage below a alue which is representative of the actual battery life. Most battery meters run off the pack's voltage, which is why it drops then goes back up!
really surprised that battery held together, you went through a LOT of water. Now talking a bit more about the issues, more ground clearence would go a long way, might become too unstable might increase the manuverability who knows, i dont know much about skateboards but with an even longer board you could bring the center of gravity down by sitting in a more laid down position, more of a single sitter racecar vibe. With a longer and taller board you would be able to mount bigger batteries under the board or under your knees, assuming a single sitter position you would have them slightly bent, what would even help with steering cause of easier body roll. Somewhere to rest your arms would also help, i assume its not very comfortable to have them just kinda stand there for half an hour All that a side tho, great video and great build, felt quite refreshing, ngl yt's algorithm is kinda cooked rn, at least for me.
@@BenRebuilt I built an Ebike using my bmx bike in highschool. It was around $300 also, it was difficult but lasted 3 years. The batteries were like 20 pounds though and that's not realistic to put in your bag plus your school stuff, had to get my mom to weld a basket for it.
