I live in the greatest city in the world (in my humble opinion) and I'm going to show you around! We started this journey with awesome pizza joints around the Big Apple, but the city has so much more to offer. My appetite has expanded beyond just pizza, so come along as we explore the various neighborhoods of NYC looking for fantastic food, divine drinks, decadent desserts, and exciting events.
You should try Andrew Belluci in Astoria. The Pepperoni with Vodka Sauce is probably the best slice in the entire city. I've ran into people from Manhattan who travel to Queens to eat at Andrew Bellucis Pizza.
Wasn't impressed with either place in this video. But then I went to the Joe's in financial district and they reheated the slice before giving it me, made it massively better. The two spots in this video just gave me slices off the shelf. Shame.
I moved to NYC from Texas in 2017 and Bleecker is waaaay better than Joe’s! The Nonna Maria is my favorite pizza ever! I moved back to Texas and I miss it every day 😢
The service here was not so amazing was the worst ! I was very exicted they were mopping while i was eating my food 2nd the lady working there was so rude and mean . Mopping the batheroom through the whole hall it wasn't even closing time was the worst experience.
Been there a couple times, I travel all the way from NJ just for the plov and samsas. I havent been in a while because the subways have become so dangerous and NYC the worst its been since the 70s or 80s
I never had a Paisi's. I know the banh mi is GREAT! But, to hell with the sandwich. Just to see the owner of Saigon Vietnamese Sandwich Deli is all I need; a Class A human being.
Did not have the chance to meet the owner, but they sure do make a damn good sandwich. Now, whenever I go to a Vietnamese restaurant, I NEED to try their Bahn mi sandwich Thanks for watching!
@@APieceofNewYork - I've had Bahn Mi's all over the country. It's hard to say if one was better than the next, they all have been good. A rare thing . . a bargain.
I think you can order from them through instagram They don’t have an official website, but they have avenues for you to order aside from stopping in person Thanks for watching!
Cool looking spot bro!! The director described it well. Both burgers looked great, but i think i'd opt for the onion burger. Hope you're doing well amigo 👍🏻
This was a very cool spot Very great vibe in an awesome section of the City Checks off a lot of boxes Life is beautiful on this side of the pond my dude The weather is getting warmer out here. King Louie needs to make a trip back to the City again in 2024!
It’s a really cool place! I like that you can sit down and enjoy yourself here. When 7th Street gets too crazy, sometimes you need to stand there on the sidewalk and eat. 😆 I’ve also heard Hamburger America has a tremendous ham sandwich, but I didn’t get to try it on this visit. Since it’s gonna be a first time for you as well, maybe go with someone and split the sandwich? Thanks for watching!
If you decide to go you should do it now because it would not surprise me if George stops working there. The reason is because famous guys who start a restaurant typically leave after starting up the place and move on to other locations or something else.
Hiya, How would Boon Dee Rank vs other Asian Buffets? Like rank wise, favorites, and compared to "MEAT ME" , "99 FLAVOR TASTE", "cast iron pot" , "gyu-kaku" , etc. ?
I liked this place a lot. To be honest, the hot pot part of the meal wasn’t ideal/functional bc of the shape of the grill/pot, but the BBQ section was great. There was an awesome selection of meats and I liked that it was self-service. If I wanted to get more of a specific meat, I could walk right up and get it as opposed to waiting for someone to come, take the order, and then bring it (usually a smaller portion than what I want). Ranking: #1 Meat Me - I love the environment there with the high energy Kpop music and fun crowd. The quality of meat is great and they have good service. It comes with side dishes (banchan) that you can get refilled, along with other sides off the menu. #2 Boon Dee & 99 Favor - I find Boon Dee and 99 Favor to be interchangeable. 99 Favor might have the slight edge bc their hotpot is better, but if I’m going for just BBQ I might have to give the edge to Boon Dee. I like both places a lot, so I would leave it up to the person I’m going with to choose. #3 Cast Iron - I haven’t been to Cast Iron since 2019, but I will say that I liked it A LOT when I went. It's similar to Meat Me and it has cool lighting, so I felt like I was at a club. I'm not sure if this is always the vibe (I was there for NYE), but it might be too intense of an atmosphere for some. #4 Gyu-Kaku - This place gets marked down bc I'm a volume eater, haha. I get more for my dollar at the other places, which are all-you-can-eat. They do have great deals during happy hour and their side dishes are fantastic, but this place hits my wallet way harder than the others. With that said, I can be convinced to go back to GK for special occasions since the food is good and the vibes are great.
Don’t knock it till you try it! This place is great. Would I go there everyday, no, but it’s a nice treat to have once in a while. Thanks for watching!
I always like to say that people who think that NY doesn't have good Mexican food just haven't been looking in the right places! It is true that we have a superabundance of extremely mediocre, extremely overpriced Mexican spots throughout Manhattan. But there are more and more new gems opening up all the time! Next time check out Mariscos El Submarino in Jackson Heights or Plaza Ortega in Bushwick. Or Maya's Snack Bar in Ridgewood for sweets and treats
For a place like this in NYC, the prices are actually about average I’d say But with the history, ambiance, and selection, I’d say the place is worth a trip Thanks for watching!
