Welcome to my RU-vid Channel. My name is Dewey Davenport. I am a professional pilot and one of the most popular modern day barnstormers East of the Mississippi. I am the owner and operator of Goodfolk & O'tymes Biplane Rides in the Dayton, Ohio area and when I'm not barnstorming in my antique biplane I'm out Jet setting around the country and parts of the world in a business jet.
Join me and follow my journey as a spontaneous traveler. This channel will experience my jet setting adventures, as well as living the dream as a barnstormer. Visiting many local attractions and museum will just touch some of my traveling.
I learned to fly in an Aeronca champ at 17. Did you know that "sully sullenberger" learned to fly when he was 16! I'm 73 and still think I could fly one!
I did a video in Xenia with a pinhole camera. It worked a bunch better that trying to point anything at the sun. Even in totality the camera just didn't pick up the amazing spectacle.
Thanks for taking us along for a ride in the Champ. Since you hand prop regularly, you should do a primer on to do it properly, from "switch off" to "switch on."
Nice to see you and the family, I hope we see more from the Dewey Drone. I liked your collection of rc planes, I got myself a nice new rc glider called a Shadow 141 wing span. I’ll put a picture on your Instagram page. Safe travels.
Too long amigo! Don't be a stranger. Fly that Travel Air! Great to see you after all this time. Fun video. There was a total Solar Eclipse a couple of years ago, could you imagine an eclipse and 250 hot air balloons?! It was pretty cool! I think someone had a video on RU-vid.😊
So glad to see you all back on here and in the Champ! I got some fairy good pictures of the eclipse from Fairborn. Thanks for sharing the videos with us all. 😁
What a nice video to enjoy with my lunch today, thank you! I’m curious, can you fly a champ on the Fisk arrival into Oshkosh or is it too slow? I was reading the NOTAM last night and saw they want 90 knots on the arrival. I thought possibly the ultralight arrival would be the way to go but I’m not sure.
Alex, if you have a champ or Cub with no radio. Go in as NORDO. The procedure is so easy and strait forward. IMO, the only way to go with a slow aircraft.
@@DeweyDavenport Hey thanks for the reply! I’m just dreaming right now, I have been doing some tail wheel training in a champ and have really been enjoying it. I don’t think I’ll be buying one before Airventure this year, but hopefully by the end of this year. Seems like such a great airplane for fun flying!
I don't think the champ is getting as much youtube time as needed, so if you would like to, I'll be more than happy to assist with that if I can get permission to land at the bald eagle airport down the road from the freedom factory
Great to see a new video!! My first hours were in an aeronica similar to yours. I was very young. My dad was a flight instructor and was the first chief of flight training at Lear Jet. Please continue your videos and include your beautiful family!!!
It's been a looonnngg time since you made a video. So good to see a new one. I rewatch the old ones. Oshkosh is where we got to meet face-to-face and look forward to meeting up each summer. Happy birthday early. Your daughter is beautiful
I built the wings pretty much to plans. The wings are 1/4 ply, and the leading edge has a piece of 1X1, or something close to that. Sandwich the 1X1 between the top and bottom. Then, a lot of sanding
@@DeweyDavenport You did a fantastic job modifying your pedal plane. Looks amazing ! Congrats on the new addition to your family, as well. I'm sure she enjoy it for many years .
