I'm a college sports fan that has been obsessed with college football ever since the mid-1990s. I first started playing Bill Walsh College Football '95 for Sega and of course once I got a PlayStation 2 the NCAA Football series has been a staple.
By the way, I'm the idiot that sold my XBOX360 along with the "coveted" final game in the amazing series NCAA Football '14. So if you are an idiot like me that got rid of that amazing game and are happy that a new version is coming out soon (of if you still have NCAA Football '14 you can brag about it to me), then this channel is for you. Also if you like college sports history then this channel is for you
If you haven't subscribed to channel please do because the more subs I get the better I feel about spending 20 hours on each video. Sorry for trying to make you feel bad .

You have to do a wronged episode on the University of Nebraska at Omaha football team. They were wronged. Also, they do have a history of putting some players in the NFL.
As a Mizzou fan, this was an unforgettable season that was so exciting to see every ranked team play due to all of the upsets. It was crazy for Mizzou to be ranked #1 even though it didn't last long. But this year is where we go back to #1! MIZ!!!
Ohio State was never going to a bowl game that year. They couldn't "repeat" after going to Pasadena in '68. If they would have won that game versus UM, they would have been national champs without going anywhere. Alas....
Hey, man, just to let you know, FAU won a share of the Sun Belt in 2007. I should know because they beat my Troy Trojans to become co-champs with Troy in the only home game I missed that season.
Certainly 07 was an interesting season for Michigan. Starting the season ranked 5 or 6 then losing to a 1AA team followed by being blown out vs oregon. They ended up beating a Tebow lead florida team in the Citrus. There was drama with Lloyds retirement too. He wanted to name his successor. Then you had a situation where Michigan wanted to hire Les Miles and it's of my opinion he wanted to take the job, but LSU made the national title game. LSU then forced Les to sign an extension in order to coach in the national title game. The season was crazy.
As a matter of pure unexpected luck, I found myself in New Orleans on the day of the championship game. I bought an LSU shirt and joined the fun. The roar of the crowd as it migrated from The Quarter to the Dome was louder than a jet on takeoff. Great Time.
I remember the UT Kentucky game, we blew a MASSIVE lead, the overtime periods were insane That was a horribly flip floppy season for us, it was when Fulmer had lost the locker room - next season was truly his end The LSU SEC title game was absolute garbage, terrible holding call on the opposite side of the field brought back a HUGE TD which would have absolutely changed the trajectory of the game LOVE THESE VIDEOS
Re 1966 ND/MSU-The NCAA/ABC had already decided to broadcast Tennessee/Kentucky in the SEC footprint (with Red Barber at the mike) But, even in SEC country-there was HEAVY interest in the game in East Lansing-so the NCAA and ABC came up with a compromise, where ND/MSU would air in its entirety after UT/UK
Reason that ABC made the switch for Arkansas/Texas from mid-October to December: Beano Cook (yes, him) was working as a liason between the NCAA and ABC after being fired as Pitt's SID-and had a gut feeling that the game could be HUGE, but also knew that they faced competition from potential World Series broadcasts on NBC (remember the WS had all day games back then) So, Beano urged ABC and Arkansas to make the December date
Wisconsin ran a minute short of completing the greatest bowl comeback ever. Most people there swear that with one more minute, they’d have won. Southern California won it ingloriously, being outscored 23-0 toward the end, and choosing a safety rather than punting from deep. The Badgers didn’t return to the Rose Bowl for 31 years, but when they did, they won three of them between ‘94 and 2000.
They didn't "choose" a safety. The center snapped the ball over the punter's head. Perhaps if Wes-can-son would have played better in the first 3 quarters, they might have had a chance. Regardless, SC was the better team and proved it.
Good to see that Yale was listed as #13 on Nov. 21 after completing 9-0 season by crushing Harvard in Cambridge. Bulldogs shared the Lambert Trophy (best in the East) with Navy. Captain Mike Pyle went on to have a successful NFL career with the Bears
10:23 A really big thing that happened around this time that gets glossed over in this video is SMU getting the NCAA death penalty for repeat violations during the '80s (a decade where they were actually one of the prominent teams in their conference). This situation contributed quite strongly to the fall of the SWC. At this time, SMU isn't even in a power conference.
As a lifelong Rebel fan, 1960 will always put me in a bad mood. Ole Miss was the best team in the nation, but there was significant bias against southern teams, especially a small school in a small town like Oxford, MS. The Rebs were undefeated, yet lost out to a team with one loss. The sportswriters assn gave the natty to Ole Miss that year, iirc.
You are wrong about the 1959 Ole Miss-LSU game score. Final score was 7-3, not 3-0. The 7 points was the TD from Billy Cannon's famous punt return. Then Ole Miss crushed them 21-0 in the rematch in the Sugar Bowl.
In 2022 the Stagg Memorial Football Plaza was constructed on the grounds of the stadium dedicated to Amos Alonzo Stagg. My mom's high school graduation ceremony took place in that Stadium. The Stagg Memorial Stadium was also used by the Amos Alonzo Stagg High School Delta Kings football team until they built their own football stadium
One of the Good things that happened at Notre Dame under Gerry Faust was the 13 game unbeaten streak against USC started during his tenure. From1983-1995 ND was 12-0-1 vs Southern Cal.
I think I may have mentioned that a time or two on this list but if I didn't, then yes you are correct most if not all teams played all 60 mins. Thanks for watching
@@WrongedSports Sam Williams played for Michigan State 1956-1958 was captain and all American in 58 the played for rams in 1959 Lions 60-65 falcons 66-67
Hornung's '56 Heisman - with a 2-8 record - still raises ire with Tennessee fans - they thought their Johnny Majors deserved it. Then came 1997 and Michigan's Charles Woodson, taking the award away from Peyton Manning. Stung, again ! My how the Vols hate Northern schools - and the PR janissaries who do their bidding ... 🏉🏈
This video was excellent. I never even knew Joe Kuharich coached at Notre Dame. I only knew about his tenures in the NFL with Washington and Philadelphia. That's why I watch your videos. I learn something new every time.
Thank you for watching. He is such an enigma not many people know of him so hopefully this helps more fans. Please share and thank you again for watching and subscribing
UoP just didn't get the talent anymore. They didn't have an answer when SC, UCLA, and Cal siphoned off the top players from the Bay Area and Central California..
Just when I think I’ve learned everything about WW2, a story like this comes along and I learn something new. Thank you for sharing this interesting story and keep up the excellent work.
