People that are given power are a$$holes. I was arrested for speeding while on my way to the hospital for cancer treatment. It took 2 months to get another appointment but the cop didn't care one bit. I was charged with reckless driving on an empty highway.
Where is the " Common sense" on the code enforcement person. Seriously, did he really think he was being reasonable? And he trys to prove his case in court?
What an EXTREME waste of taypayer money ! Beyond me why anyone would live in these kind of places where they basically run your life while you are at home. Most folks go home to get away from this kinda shit. Can't imagine living like that.
Is it a crime to have a vehicle in your driveway with a flat tire? What if the tire went flat overnight? It might be OK to have it a violation if it sits there 2 weeks with a flat tire but not OK to have a violation because it is just seen at one moment in time to have a flat tire.
It just Pisses me off that the Gov can intrude on private property, This is just local elected being whoes for federal grant money that requires New gov employees which will vote for a Pay Raise every time.. As someone living on 9,000 per year social security, paying over 4K for a flat tire is pretty extreme. Has anyone checked to see how many mass shooters had something like this happen to them? This kind of economic hardship imposed by your own government over a flat tire is enough to qualify anyone for an insanity defense. Rich government employees have no clue what 4K is to their constituents.
Sad when local, state, and federal governments do this type of thing. My local township has a code enforcement officer that is ticketing, levying fines, and proposing legal action against property owners, but his own house and free standing garage have incomplete improvements that are easily visible from the road and have been out of compliance for almost a decade. When the board and code enforcement officer were confronted with this obvious code violation, their response was to issue him another two-year permit and considered the matter closed. That was almost two years ago and the front of his house still has shown no signs of change to be in compliance. Even though the board and code enforcement officer has continued to demonstrate its ability to cite, fine, and start legal action against other property owners, they showed obvious favoritism towards one of their own. Unfortunately, this is all too common.

You can see that tire was just low on air not FLAT as the enforecment officer clamed. If i was that resident i would now go after that office with a lawsuit After all the officer wants the laws followed, and telling lies about a crime should be a crime by its self.
Years ago, im retired now, i worked 12-hour rotating shifts. It was the winter making the days shorter. Because of this the folding ladder i was using for soffet and gutter work, i fooded and placed at the top of my driveway at the foot of my chain link fence. This gave me like an extra 15 minutes of daylight to get my work completed. One day a compliance officer, who must have just went to a class, took photos of the just visible ladder, behind flower pots and one of the ubiquitous basketball hoop. Then walked onto my property for close up images. Over reaching beaurocrats. Took two visits with the office and one, finally to the city manager. Used a vacation day for the unnecessary hearing. But i did get warm and fuzzy feeling from the apology i never received
