HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THIS WAS POSTED KNGBFNSKFHGHJIEWKJ This is one of, in my opinion, the best fan songs you have posted yet. I always loved Morbid Curiosity, and this remaster just amplifies everything I loved about it. 11/10, to my playlist INSTANTLY. Have a great day! :D
I love this song because Chara is here acting (and shown) as a consequence of our actions, and not someone who is interested in pushing the consequences on us. Because Chara's never been like that (Chara is our partner in said deeds, after all). This is a Pandora's box that we open with our actions, with the difference that this box has its own mind, which is even more horrible.
There's something terrifying about this entire song, from the clip to the song itself, I couldn't even look at the video properly because the way it's drawn triggers my scopophobia (phobia of being stared at) which is not a bad thing at all, infact when an interest of mine is drawn in a scary way that triggers my scopophobia I find it insanely cool and epic, so honest congratulations to you on that work because holy shit. And the song just sounds like it's sung by someone corrupt with L.O.V.E. which adds to all of it. Simply Amazing
Ooooohhh... I don't know anything about Homestuck, but this song is ominous and chilling :0 (That could also be the fact It's actually cold in my room TwT)
Interesting to have visuals now with this song, it completely changes my perspective on the song!! Originally listening to this, I thought the one singing was Chara, and the "demon" they were referring to being the player, telling them to kill the family and home they loved. Now with this version, it's the opposite; the player is now the one singing, panicking, while Chara stands there and reminds them of what they've done. I think what's really interesting with the player singing is that now in this case, Chara's become a villain. When really they haven't... done much. It was YOU who chose to kill everyone. Because you were curious. They're just a remind of that. Poor Chara man :')
I listened to the old one so much that it was on my top playlist so this video is definitely going to be one of my favorites, please keep it up your music is amazing 😊
Damn, I love this! The unique and clever abstractions of wrongness in the beginning just hit so hard for me! "Led to water, yet it won't drink." "Would you judge the ground you stand on?" the way the sounds of each syllable blends into the next and out of the last at about 1:53 is so ghostly sounding and I love it! Overall, just great work! Buildings throughout really well, and has some great atmosphere and lyric choices! Also, narratively, it uses the concept of Chara being a force of tempting twisted evil, while not coming anywhere close to denying the guilt of Frisk/the Player, which is a nice touch. It has some of the fun vibes of the former without discrediting the sins of the person who made the choice to walk that dark path in the first place. Frisk was encouraged, but not controlled. Not until it was far too late. Personally, I like to say that, by the end of the genocide route, you've already sold your soul to a demon. That final agreement you can make is just making it official. - PS, also just wanted to add the "tonal accent" at the very end of "failed humanity" is just perfect! (I put "tonal accent" in quotes because idk what to call it exactly)
Sooo I love this, like a lot! Tho to be fair all your songs are killer! Out of curiosity, on the whole Chara is evil and manipulates Frisk or Chara is the narrator and is corrupted by Frisk and or the player’s actions.(there are more interpretations than these. These are just the ones I see most often) Where do your beliefs lie? I feel like I already know thanks to the song, but I just wanna be sure for the sake of my “morbid curiosity”
I think something along the lines of how this isn't really the true interpretation of who Chara was when alive, but something formed in the image of Chara! Something much deeper than just a human child could ever be... something more ambitious, willing to follow your hand after you acted first.
@evidentlyfresh ooh, I really like that! What's your reasoning behind why it takes the form of Chara then? Also what do you think of the Chara narrator thing? I first heard of it from the video "The true villain of undertal"
This fits canon Chara SO WELL, especially since they don't sing it, but instead, the player as Frisk and then themselves does. It plays well to their mysterious nature and it's inevitability once they're awoken.
when i tell you i cried so many times when playing this whole ending sequence, i even almost cried just watching this video, this game fundamentally rewired my brain i am so ill. im so glad you played this and cant wait to see more
Got this randomly in my recommended feed, gave it a listen. Very well-made! I like the way you portray both Chara and Frisk in this. It's rare that I see an Undertale fan-project portray a Frisk that knowingly and willingly does the Genocide Route.
