Im trying to become a world record holder for one arm pull ups and pushups. Will I ever be able to do muscle ups, one arm pull ups, hang cleans, or overhead presses again safely? I dislocated my shoulder and tore my labrum. I’m 9 weeks after and at 90% to where I was pain wise and mostly there strength wise. PT has gone well but I still wonder about the safety of doing those excersises again.

I have eds and i'm getting x rays in a couple weeks if you want me to share somehow. Since you say you have interest in that. Thank you for all of this information. I'm bed ridden right now I keep disconnecting my si joints... even from something as simple as bending to wash my hands in the sink.
@merrylittlebandofmisfits7040
@merrylittlebandofmisfits7040 5 месяцев назад
Also picking up something light like a book or coffee mug often makes my pinky finger bend sideways at the joint (the wrong way) if that has such an effect..no wonder i can't walk, that's a lot more weight and movement happening. I'm still trying to get my diagnosis figured out, this is all new to me within the last year. But looking back eds fits what i've been dealing with my whole life. I always sit and stand and lay like a flamingo even as a kid. I could never run much or do things like crawl races as a kid, my ankles and wrists would immediately sprain. I sleep with like 7 pillows to support my neck. I dislocated a rib just getting a hug.

Hace muchos años, I was an athletic trainer, and we made regular use of ice and contrast therapies. Fast forward to accompanying my mother to her visit with a medical massage therapist, where I was told in no uncertain terms “ice is the devil, I’ve read the research.” So I went looking for that research, because I just couldn’t believe it. And I couldn’t find anything easily available that supported the ice is bad claims. Thank you both for covering this topic. As a scientist, I always tell people I’m one data set away from changing my mind. But it does have to be a GOOD data set! I’ll keep icing acute injuries.

Since I have been trying to improve my hamstring strength,I managed to develope some sort of scaitica pain. The exercises I do for my hamstrings are elastic band assisted Nordic curl negatives with as little extra assistance with my hands as possible on the concentric phase, and I alternate these exercises with still ring hamstring exercises (laying on the floor heels are on the rings) , I chose these two exercises two expose my hamstrings to exercises targeting the same with different strength curviture. The above mentioned exercises are always done in a superset fashion to make sure of compensating. For that I chose Bulgarian squats with 7kg weight vest plus 2 kg dumbbells in each hand, and 2-3 times I raise the dumbbells above head keeping them as high as possible throughout the leg movement. And the other exercise I do for compensation is goblet squats with 7kg weight vest plus a 25kg dumbbell held in front. All together I do 5 sets for flexors and 5 sets for extensor group doing the exercises on a 5-7second eccentric and relatively explosive concentric phase. set1.Bulgarian sq-band assisted Nordiccurls set2. Goblet sq. - still ring hamstring curls set3.Bulgarian sq-band assisted Nordiccurls set4.Goblet sq. - still ring hamstring curls set5.Bulgarian sq-band assisted Nordiccurls Now knowing, it is near impossible to tell by only reading this what could be the problem, do you think I am doing something wrong? I also do Jefferson curls on a different day with 20kg followed by elevated leg bridges to improve my thoracic spine mobility. Appreciate your answer, if you have time for this.

Thanks for writing to us. It sounds like you are overdoing it and are likely causing some sort of nerve irritation. How about you back off for a week and see how you feel. If your symptoms improve then you should likely reduce your training volume and/or focus on single exercises rather than supersets. - Coach Joshua, Team PM
@hunlevistube
@hunlevistube 2 года назад
@@themovementlongevityshow5450 thanks very much for the response. Overdoing it was one of my suspicions as, as far I can recall this phenomenon started after I implemented Jefferson curls to my routine. Other than that I do the mentioned exercises twice a week. After having tried technique displayed here, alternated with some flossing it somewhat feels a bit better but backing off might be a wiser way of acting since today is another day for these exercises, I might only do my ring combination work and call it, however I love working on developing more and more mobility. Big fan from Hungary!! Love this tribe! ;)
