I really should update the description of this video with links to some helpful parts like a small DC-DC convertor so you don't have to worry about the 7805 and heatsink, as well as where you can buy the cartridge connector cheaply and avoid having to tear apart a Game Genie. A lot on my plate lately.

if a channel bans you, your comments are not there except you think they are. I know for sure I been shadow banned from a couple channels, I remember this one guy I wrote a comment and said I thought Doom was way overrated and right after that I never saw my comments again. So I unsubbed from his channel, he couldn't even take someone disagreeing with him. But there are cases where its not the channel and its just youtube auto deleting a comment because its weird AI thinks it should. I gotten weird auto responses from youtube warning me I could get commenting disabled for toxic messages, but it was misreading sarcastic comments I had made which were not even targeting anyone. But that's how stupid their AI is, it can't tell the difference between jokes and real no matter how obvious it is for anyone with even half a brain.
@evilspleen9994 Last I heard, it's likely just sitting in storage somewhere after they fired all the contractors. Either that or a higher-up kept it for themselves, but likely storage. :/
I’m not able to reply to comments anymore for whatever reason. I can still post on videos like this, but I suspect they’re given less traction or only show up for certain accounts. I’d be worried it’s tools on their end they’ve adjusted for your account. And others accounts as well. I still get notifications about replies even when comment is hidden/deleted and I bet the people being replied to may get a notification but never can read or see full comment. It’s funny my replies are blanket banned but they still let me go through the facade of typing and posting them. I can post this but won’t be able to reply so goodbye
@tonyschannel7438 That would probably get really complicated, really fast. And I've found a few issues with it since. It still works mostly, just a few things here and there. I don't think I'll ever bother with doing an instructional video for this because 99% of people out there would just opt to take the much easier route and emulate on a Raspberry Pi or something. They've got multi-system handhelds for less than $100 on AliExpress now too.
I'm so damn paranoid about this happened to me. I really need to invest in cloud storage at first and then get a nas drive in the future. I'm sorry this happened man. Hahah! Don't worry about me, I INTENTIONALLY wasn't backing up that Steam drive because the way I see it, it's ALREADY backed up in the cloud. Just re-download what you want and the saves should be there too, if the game supports cloud saves (most do). Everything else is backed up locally on large drives. Everything on the NAS is also burnt to 25GB BD-R discs in a giant wallet. We don't have a cloud solution yet, but I've heard good things about backblaze. If you can't afford $100/year, you can always just invest in a large hard drive and external enclosure (already well over $100), and store it at someone else's house in their safe or wherever in case your house burns down or something. Yeah you'd have to update it every so often, but there's a reason it's called "poor man's offsite backup", hahah! It's not so crazy though. Everything my wife would need to sort everything out and carry on with life if a piano fell on my head fits on a thumb drive. Where you wanna keep that is up to you. And as far as backup software, I personally use Macrium Reflect. It's not free, or even cheap, but at least it's not some kind of subscription crap. You buy it and it's yours. You can get extremely detailed with how you want what backed up. For example, the stuff that my wife and I are currently/actively working on is usually on a single drive or just a few folders. You can setup a custom backup definition that backups up those drives/folders every 15 minutes in case your computer crashes or something else stupid happens. It's already saved both our butts many times so far. May wanna look into that, depending on what your needs are. (DON'T trust Windows Backup or File History, it's trash).

I was using a smaller-gauge RDF aapliance, but they're still fairly reliable. I would have loved to try the "LASER" means too, but there's a bunch of crap on top right now and I'm fat and lazy.
Oh if I had the tools. One thing I thought of doing was drilling holes in the corner of each chip, removing them from the board with a rework station and maybe making some king od chain bracelet out of it. Ooooor, create an adapter that throws ENTIRELY too much voltage at them to the point that the electronics pop and catch fire. (Or both). "The urge to destroy is also a creative urge!"
SSDs work by storing an electron in a cell. If there’s no electron it’s a 0, if it’s occupied it’s a 1. Quick formatting (zap) the SSD just causes all the cells to discharge and release. It works. However if you don’t trust it, take off the metal shell, drill a hole through the NAND chips then chuck it in the garbage.
Hows about intentionally making an adapter of some kind that you can wire up to old power supplies and literally throw a knife switch like some Frankenstein shit? So much voltage there's instant popping and smoke and fire. That sound a lot more fun than secure erase and much quicker than RDF tools!

Hahah, thanks! I'd still love to make a modern catch-all controller (digital AND analog) for this thing. Even this completely reworked and refurbished controller is still crap. Gonna try to fix the trackball controller if possible. It's a pretty cool system, just dreadfully awful controllers, and that's a shame.

That package should've went into the bigger parcel box, not your regular mail box, and your carrier knows that. It's part of the training. So I hope you did complain so that won't be an issue again.

I ended up installing this mod recently in my PS5 controller that replaces the button membranes + ribbon PCB with switches and now I can't set the thing down. I'm not even playing that many games with it, I'm just fidgeting with the buttons. Great for Street Fighter tho.
Glad to hear you're still alive and kicking. I randomly decided to check back in on your channel like I do every couple of years and saw you had some videos. No pressure to make more stuff, though; go at your own pace. I always liked the videos on your channel because I could tell you were passionate about all the projects you worked on and your ideas were always so unique. Looking forward to what the future has in store.

@cameronmartin8898 No light pierces my home, saw to that years ago. D suppliments and other accoutrements are delivered via pneumatic tube. Looking to have a form-fitting suit covered in tac switches and my current WFH room covered floor to ceiling with tac switches. I'm looking to roll around and create a cacophony of consensual clicking. I haven't thought of the best microphones and amplifiers yet. I have friends thar deal exclusively in hi-fi, we'll be in touch.
