Can you build an ADU before you build a main house? If we are allowed to build an ADU prior to building the main house, do we need plans for the main house prior to building an ADU. and how much time do we have to live in the ADU?
Your garage was in much better shape than this garage. You have a different issue which was no footings on the garage. I would still check that by drilling into the foundation

I like both, actually. I built a detached ADU in my backyard, and though the actual building turned out great, thinking about the landscape + hardscape to create some separation between the main house was something I didn’t really take into account until after the construction ended. I’m always looking for ideas how to create division without just building a fence straight down the property line.
I am very confused man. You stated that this house is very dear to your heart. Did you purchase this house for yourself and your family that you converted this garage into an ADU later on in the video you said the homeowners the homeowners what are you talking about? What do you mean?
In one part of Washington state 20 years ago, I pay $120,000 for eight 3000 square-foot home and 9000 square-foot lot. Whatever is happening in the world with all these high prices which means we need Jesus and earth is so ridiculous how expensive everything is. And the house was built for me and my children. It was a brand new home.
In Silicon Valley. Near San Jose ca That would cost $180k-220k Takes 8months City is slow with permits Also. Houses here starts at $1.2m in the ghetto from 1960 Mobile homes here are 350k with space rent of $1400
My garage from inside has an 8 inches let us called all around side curb concrete which is wider than my studs about 3 or more inches . The question is I am converting it legally to ADU so how to put the drywall? Should I land the bottom of the drywall on the raised concrete curb ? Because if I land it on the slab then it’ll be far from the studs by 3 inches . If so do I have to double the studs so the drywall back touch the studs
wait a second. What if I want to run separate utilities, meaning. A 2nd electrical meter, etc. Can it be done? I know it will cost me more but I wonder if it is allowed
Im doing a lot more concrete lately learning more and more! I underbid a bit but remember I built the ADU as well. I hope your patio was done properly at least, Im sorry they charged you so much.
