Two easy questions…… Is it possible that the ECU programming cause the engine to start knocking ? Is it possible that the factory mapping could become corrupt or partially corrupt and cause engine knocking ? Thank you !
Is this guy still making videos? I’m subscribing either way, friggin awesome break down and explained well enough for a middle schooler to be able to learn it. It’s me, I’m the middle schooler in question, mentally anyway 🤣🤣
2014 Veloster Turbo - they started doing it from the factory with the N in 2019, so it’s mostly just modernizing it. Imo, the N’s 2.0L theta is great if you’re going to do little or no work, but the 1.6L Gamma actually has a much higher horse power ceiling.
Within the next few months, I'll be putting a 5.3 from a 2008 Impala into a 2008 Mazda 6. Alot to be done for it to work, but will be worth it in the end
Question, let's say you got a newer year car that has multiple modes such as eco, normal, and sport... could you throw a turbo on the engine and/or can you tune the engine while making all the modes still practical?
Hey champ, I’ve been watching your videos since 2 AM this morning. I work from 5 PM to 8 AM Monday through Friday. I’m working to put a turbo on my 2006 Pontiac G6 GT, can you give me some pointers to make a good cool speedy car
Snap-on and Matco tools are just for professional mechanics. It's not really the quality these professionals are paying for, it's the warranty. A professional mechanic is going to break tools more often than you in your garage. That said, I will say, most of the mark-up on those brands is simple name recognition. But, selectively, they are worth it if you're a pro. They are a total rip-off if you're not working on cars professionally, however. Harbor Freight is the backyard mechanics friend. Especially when you consider that many of the power tool brands are only differentiated by brand name and the battery interface. If I remember the Hercules power tools and the Milwaukee power tools are the same tool, just different battery interface and brand name. The Milwaukee's also do have better quality control, but that's irrelevant unless you're a pro since you're not going to put the tool under the same punishment as a professional mechanic. Buy the cheaper one. It's also a good idea to buy in to and ecosystem for power tools. This way you only really need to have two batteries to swap between all your power tools.
I would add that it is good practice to at least allow the engine to get to its low idle before shifting out of park. Cold engines typically idle high when they are first started and shifting from park when the idle is @ 1500 RPM can be harsh and stresses a transmission over time.
I am 16 and got pretty much everything in this video apart from jack axel stand and crimping tool but I only spent 500 on a halfords tool chest with 12 drawers all has lifetime warranty
Soooo fake the burble... . only if you have tuned the car enough and have a lot of HP I think it is OK. Otherwise it is sooooo fake and it will ruin your kat with the excess of fuel.....
I want to turbo charge my 545i NA V8 4.4 333 HP 450 NM to about 750 hp i want a turbo that doesn't loose top end but i also hate turbolagg so somehere in the middle, what turbo would be best? I want integrated wastegate but not if it compromizes the powerband so rather external and the perfect turbo for my build then other way around
I'm about to fiddle with this using an OpenFlash tablet + RomRaider software on my 2010 NC2 Mazda MX-5 Miata - MZR/Duratec LFVD - 5spd. Process seems fairly simple and can be tested in tiny increments to insure both safety on the engine as well as tastefulness ;) My big question is; is this (a modest burble tune like shown in your video) going to severely decrease the effective lifespan of my upstream o2/lambda sensor?
Funny, I was looking for "other" turbo sounds. Like the whine I started hearing at low throttle recently. But this was a very well done overview for people just getting into force feeding their engines. Also, I enjoyed the montage at the end. :)
So basically, it's turning your exhaust system into an afterburner. However, since a 4-stroke is a torque based engine, you don't get the increase in power that you get from a thrust based engine.
I wanna turbo my 05 civic ex 1.7 with a 5 speed any suggestions on a turbo I did buy a used motor to go over with new gaskets new valves and forged pistons
On the rare cold winter Floridian morningmorning I wait till after I put my boots on after foot powdering my feet, and blowing into my ignition interlock (breathalyzer) which is enough time for the idle to come down then I head out at easy rpm. I wait til after I pick up my coworker for carpool, then I start gunning it. By then oil temp is right at 190-200 😇
