Hi Anthony, I agree with trying to reduce waste to help the environment so DAC is going in the right direction there. Perhaps they’ll put some of the kit options in their accessories section so people have the choice to get them if they so choose. ❤

Anthony, so eye opening to see that trash pile. Once you add the empty drill bags and plastic cover sheets, it's quite an impact. One comment, though...the DAC tool bags are supposed to be recyclable. I do appreciate the companies that offer the tool kits as an option. Maybe DAC can go that route in the future.

Hi Anthony I stopped buying diamond paintings 6 years ago because of all the plastic waste, my conscience couldn’t take it, not only that , the drills that I ended up accumulating as spares was another concern as if threw them away they could end up in the oceans. The plastic wrapping on the box needs to go, not necessary. And no I didn’t want a kit every time either. Good video, hopefully will make people think about this. Love all your blogs by the way. Especially doggy walking ones ❤

I totally agree with you about the waste

Anthony, thank you for having the courage to step out infront of others regarding unnessary waste. I totally agree with you. As soon as everyone saw that they werent getting washi tape, tweezers, and cover minders they were having fits on the DAC FB VIP group. I was shocked at these adult people almost acting like spoiled children not getting a toy. If someone is new to the craft, more than likley they will order a kit or buy one at their local Michaels, JoAnns or craft store that most likley will have a basic tool kit in it. Also, Im sure they will upgrade some of the items to their preferences anyways. Small shops carry wax, pens, coverminders etc. if a person wants these things! I fully support DAC in trying to reduce waste and make this world a better place.

I agree with you to a certain extent. After almost three years of diamond art painting, i have more than enough tools and don’t really need anymore tool kits. But people who are new to the craft do. People who are just starting out don’t know what they need so a tool kit is useful. Though they are fun to open, I do like it when I can choose not to receive one. To me, the best thing in the kits are the thin plastic single and multi placers. Even though I have purchased steel tips, i do like and use the plastic ones until they break. 😊

I really like that Jaded Gem Shop allows you to add a basic tool set but by default comes without it. I think that is the best of both worlds (beginners and seasoned veteran). 👍🏻

Do like Munimade, request basic tray, etc. Companies can wrap canvas in paper, like some puzzle companies are doing (pieces come in paper bags, biodegradable zip lock bag).

Yupp, it's a lot of trsh. I recycle mine. The most concerning are drills and the micro plastic they create when not recycled. But with all things it takes caring about environmental impact in the first place to care about recycling 🤷🏾‍♀️
