I can’t believe this review, I drove both last week on the same trail. The Pro R has suspension modes for each type of terrain, so you don’t have to pay $1,500 every time you want your analog suspension recalibrated. Perhaps if they switched it into the “comfort” setting rather than trail or track, it would have been more comfortable. The Can Am is fun to drive in a straight line, but good luck slowing down. Most brake systems are biased towards the front, the Can Ams are not. It’s sketchy trying to slow down fast in the Can Am. The RZR turns better, stops better, you can see better out of the front, the rear (no giant rear air intake). Not to mention, you lose HP at altitude with the Can Am being its air cooled rather than liquid cooled like the RZR. Anything the Can Am does with the knuckle A-arms, Polaris does with the power steering. The DCT is cool in concept, but people fail to recognize how special the belt system is on the Pro R versus normal belt set ups. If you think I’m biased, please go drive both instead of taking this review at face value.
These things are beer can quality and can’t go on a freeway….they are just toys to go whooping around in. They run hot and have little to no protection in accidents….just toys for rich boys that’s it
My pro r completely fell apart with less than 200 miles on it. One minute we were driving at 30 mph on a flat dirt road, the next we were stopped with a sheared main frame and broken ball joints around $17k in repairs. Very disappointed in polaris.
34 grand is stupid !!! my 2016 turbo rzr cost me 19000,,,,it has 3800 miles on it...and will tear the doors off either one of those two .unbelievable what people will pay for a go-cart.....
One of these two idiots is supposed to be a professional as he claims and a magazine, editor or journalist. I could understand the newbie complaining about the brakes being a little more spongy in the Can-Am to the Polaris, but the driver should’ve corrected him and explained that in off-road settings and in racing applications, you need a slightly sponger pedal or brake lever on a motorcycle compared to the firm pedal that you’re going to get out of your daily driver automobile. You would hate to be racing through the desert and have to take a hard turn or razor back and hit the brakes and slide, or on a race track hit the brakes and lock them up compared to hitting the brakes and gradually slowing.
Those guys were saying to skip the electronic suspension. They don't know what the hell they're talking about. Fox live valve suspension is unbelievably adjustable to all conditions. Well worth the money in my opinion.
Agree I drove one with and without live suspension and if your going to spend any serious coin, the suspension is where I’d spend it. It’s a world of difference in the ride and handling in all conditions
It's like a Ford vs Chevy comparison. Mostly how you like the car to feel in the terrain you drive it through. I don't like sitting on a piano bench with my knees banging against the walls and getting fatigued after 3 hrs. of continuous running. That's why I drive a Maverick X3 XRS RR SS around the AZ strip. The Pro R and Mav R didn't move the needle enough for me. I'll drive this until the next gen comes out.
90 hp for the touring but the 1000 overland is only 75 hp... my 850 sportsman has more hp . Why the 15 hp difference between the 1000 overland and the 1000 touring?
Everybody wang chung tonight;. Boy the oil check cover is going to be around for a ride or two. Everybody is in love with LED lights but know one considers below zero temps. LEDs do no generate heat because of the low wattage and snow and ice stay covered over projectors when out driving making visibility garbage. The 10 k price which is cheaper then competition is still way the hell to much, these machines are built by slave labor and the charge double the value the rest charge twice as well. This whole market went nuts. I bought two Kawasaki four wheelers and a trailer for under five thousand back in 1996 and that was less than with our inflation now for this one machine.
That motor should have been put on the KRX with double the horsepower instead of creating a whole new unit. Fix what ya got first before moving onto something else. Can-An and Polaris dominate for a reason. They listen to the consumer. Kawasaki and Honda can change that if they wanted because they have much better motors already in production that could be put on the KRX and Talon.
Yaaaawn. So you are saying you kind of had a good day doing a Yamaha commercial. Either become excited about what you do or find something else. People would do anything to have your job.
@@EDsavant yes sir it makes me smile every time I look at it. Nothing like hauling - XX through the Pinetrees of eastern North Carolina while slamming that five speed gearbox. Too much fun.
regular shoulder belts are nice.with my harness belt i can't reach anything on the dash/floor/passenger seat,so I had to shell out for door/roof storage bags so I can reach stuff without undoing the belts.I'm 6' tall.harnesses feel safer but they sure limit your movement in the cab.
This is kind of crazy seeing how they pretty much outlawed the 3 wheelers because people were getting hurt, but whatever, looks cool AF and I really like the idea of it being legal in all states~!
Who's idiot idea was it to build the new death tricycle? You Sir need to be kicked in the teeth! My neighbors have been obsessed with three-wheelers since I was a kid. Two of their kids have had facial reconstructive surgery and everyone else in their household has been to the hospital directly related to a crash on a three-wheelers. I rode two wheels, four wheels and six wheels my whole life. I've ever had to go to a hospital because of them. Normally I'm a remove all the warning labels and let nature take its course kind of guy. When the overwhelming majority of a vehicle's operators end up in a hospital it's time to build something else. I also assume that you're a millennial and think you know better.
So DIE-HARD Honda, ATC, ATV, classics fanman. HUGE follower of EV tech, talaria, surron, cake, Super 73, ext. Rando $0.02: Ugly as all heck. Super 🔥 concept 💡. 200m style for "universal" rider size would be better IMO. L.Q. thermo-battery control (inc. Controller), and maybe just TEST some IRS on a higher-end model? Prices actually seem REALLY reasonable. Fairly expensive, but early adoption so I kinda get it. If you need a "product tester" we live in the NE, and the climate can be all 4 season in 1hour, that would make for some great temp, traction, degradation, and tighter trail handling aspects of the trike. Can't wait to see what the future hold for your crew! VERY cool idea, and hey, 1st editions always look worse anyway lol. As long as it performs, GOLDEN!🎉😅❤
