I followed your tutorials on how to rig up a Sony ZV-E10 today all the parts arrived and it is awesome. All I am missing is a cord for the monitor but other than that it feels and looks great
Great video. Very informative. I had heard that some buyers weren’t too happy with the image stabilization on the ZV-E10 .is that something you have experienced?
Yeah I don’t recommend using the active stabilization mode in the camera. The crop is just way to extreme. I’d recommend using another form of stabilization like a monopod, tripod, or gimbal.
hey man, i love your videos, and kudos to your stunning wife for supporting you through-out!!! im really planning to buy my first camera ever, ive been using or renting sony a6400, sony a6500, sony a7ii and a7iii, but i want to get a cheap camera to start, two choices i got, either the a6300(which is still expensive) or this.. would this be enough for me as a starter camera?
It’s a custom picture profile I break down at 3:19 of this video: Cinematic Filmmaking on the Sony ZVe10 in 2024 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zr91Tiw1qrM.html Hope this helps 😉
The kit lens that comes with the camera is definitely still a great lens 😉 heres a link to a video I made about it: CINEMATIC Footage on a Budget - Sony ZV-e10 Kit Lens ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H7yiEVhWF0o.html
Hey brother! I'm an aspiring filmmaker/vlogger in the Philippines and I'm also using a ZV E10 paired with a Sigma 16mm 1.4 and a Tamron 17-70mm 2.8. I stumbled across your video, and this motivated me to start working on my ideas without upgrading to a better camera body just yet. I appreciate the effort you've put in all your videos and would love to see more of it. Hoping for more people to discover your channel and for you to get more subscribers. Wishing you and your wife more success in life!
Man I appreciate the support!! So glad you’re enjoying the content 😄 it’s 100% the filmmaker that makes incredible films, not the camera they use. Wishing you the best as well, let me know if there’s anything I can do or make content about to help you along 😉
can i ask you about picture profile i would use hlg2/bt2020 and then tranform to rec709 but ive seen your settings do you reccomend your and i have to use color space tranform or whit your is ok straight off the camera?
So if you’re comfortable with color correct and grading, shooting flatter and conveying to rec709 is fine, probably a little better. The goal of the color profile I talk about in the video is to match s cinetone in the more expensive Sony cameras. So it’s meant to look great right out of camera without a ton of color correction needed.
Yeah so the zve10 is the only beginner camera I have that isn’t over ten or fifteen years old. Would love to make some content about other ‘entry level’ cameras but I’m trying to make more content just about filmmaking in general rather than about specific cameras at the moment since the principles of filmmaking are what actually matter, not the specs you use. But I’m sure I’ll branch out to shooting on some other cameras eventually 😉
Im not sure if my comment posted haha, just wondering what site you used for the music in this. Im learning so much from you and the music and grunge definitely is my style
I use envato elements, here’s a video I made about it 😉 Glad to hear my content is helping you out!! 🔥🔥 The BEST Royalty Free Music Platform | Envato Elements ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WExmDDTTuI8.html
Great video. I have a few questions concerning the usb power. Is the original battery still insode the camera when usb powered? Ive also seen people say that the internal battery still drains when powering via usb is this so? And finally is heating up a problem when powering over usb? Thanks.
Awesome questions! 1. Yeah you need the original in the camera when powering via usb 2. Nope the battery won’t drain on you. I’ve powered it for 12 hours before using usb and the internal betters level never depleted. It actually charges the battery while you’re using the camera. 3. Nope overheating isn’t an issue Hope this helps 😄 let me know if you have any other questions
Awesome video brother. Lights are still a bit of an unexplored territory for me but this helps me a bit definitely. This must've taken a lot of effort to make especially when you're simultaneously doing it with a client project. One thing about ZV-E10's shakey footage if you haven't tried yet: using its gyro data and stabilize it in Catalyst Browse/Prepare or the free Gyroflow app? Helps a ton as you can significantly minimize the crop to stabilize footage (unlike active stabe where it crops 40%). Though you might not like sacrificing resolution in exchange of stabe so you didn't consider it an option.
This was definitely one of the most intensive single videos I’ve produced in a while. Took over five full days just to edit. Really appreciate the support on the video 😎🔥 I did try using catalyst browse when the zve10 first came out, but the software was pretty glitchy. It’s improved a lot now, but now I’m just use to not using it. I haven’t tried any of the third party apps, but overall I still kind of tend to steer away from using the gyro data just because of the poor rolling shutter performance in the zve10. It just doesn’t look as nice when you’re relying on it. But great to save you in a pinch! That’s just my two cents on it at least. I have made some videos showing how to use it 😄
Have you done a video on settings? I have two zve10’s and I shot a pretty decent film - loosely- but the automatic settings kept changing. The video is called Fringe Benefits on my other channel Muff & Tee Productions.
Absolutely! I’ve done w couple actually. This one is about exposure settings, I think that’s the automatic settings that are changing on you you mentioned: Exposing Your Films MANUALLY | Cinematic Camera Settings ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UIvH17QU4iA.html And at 3:19 of this one I talk about the custom color settings I use on the zve10: Cinematic Filmmaking on the Sony ZVe10 in 2024 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zr91Tiw1qrM.html
Great video! But something surprising I noticed. The funny dude in the shop who doesn’t like Joe ;) should be doing voice overs or narration, very interesting voice and I think there is something there.
@@VisionaryFilmStudios Yeah, like ZV-E10 or even a6300 them video capabilities and quality eaten up all DSLR ever exist full frame or not. Sometimes gear do matter yo.
great inspiring video again sir. btw sir which country are you from 😮 10 pm and still sun in the sky in my here suns down when its 4 pm and by 6:30 ita already dark
Yep Lafayette, IN, USA. Sunrise in the summer months is around 6am and sunset is 9pm. In the winter its more like 9am sunrise and 5pm sunset though. So the time of golden hour just depends on time of year and where in the world you live 🔥
great content, as before. learned a lot from your videos and owned a sony zve-10. i like your style: directly getting into the point without wasting time with nonsense.
Nope! But in my professional opinion I wouldn't worry about it (depending on what you normally shoot). If you want that feature you'll have to go with the a6700.
I live in the midwest United States! Sunrise in the summer months is around 6am and sunset is 9pm. In the winter its more like 9am sunrise and 5pm sunset though. So the time of golden hour just depends on time of year and where in the world you live.
Do NOT buy the zve10 mk ii!! I want to make a video about it but haven’t had the time- just wrapped shooting a feature and have some HUGE content planned for the next few months. But I’ll squeeze a video in about it asap 😉 The zve10 is absolutely all the camera you need as a filmmaker or video producer. The a6700 will bring some workflow improvements, like having ibis, etc, but it will NOT improve the quality of your films!!
I have both the zve10 mark 1 and the a6700. Now, I will say, the a6700 is a beast, but I cant begin to tell you how many professional level video ive done from the zve10. Seriously, that mark 1 will be one of the best cameras for the next several years for the quality and the price. you cant beat it!
Envato Elements has updated their platform since I made this video, so the layout looks a bit different now. But I'm leaving this comment to clarify that despite the new layout, everything I talk about in this video is still relevant!
Grab the Sigma 28-55 f1.8 😉 You don’t get as much zoom range, but it’s the only lens on the market that has zoom capabilities and can drop the aperture below f2.8 all the way through the focal length
@@dongwarrenmusic 28-45! My bad on the typo. This is an APSC only lens, there’s no full frame equivalent for Sony Cameras. The best you can do is the Tamron or Samyang 35-150, which is f2 at 35 but increases to f2.8 as you zoom in. I’ve heard Sony is working on a full frame 24-70 f2 lens, but it will be the first of its kind for e mount.
@@dongwarrenmusic altogether I wouldn’t worry too much about stopping below f2.8 though, it’s really not necessary at all. You’ll be completely fine with a nice zoom lens at f2.8, and if you need a lower aperture for some specific reason then switch to a prime lens. That’s what most pros do 😉
@@VisionaryFilmStudios they might re design it asap at least 25-50, a division of 5, and maybe a little bit faster to f1.5. Then it will be the all rounder film making machine pair with CV-E10. 😆
