Since I made a crappy comment about how I am the king of hot takes a month ago, I'd like to give some valid criticism. Nobody likes SRB2 without mods. You'll see most people play the vanilla game with adventure or modern sonic because base game requires really high skill which also requires like... 1 year of experience. They also use some momentum mods which... make the game better in their heads? You really need to dig deep into some servers and their mod files to find good qol mods which nobody's gonna do. Base game standalond has it's shining moments like Techno Hill 2, Castle Eggman 1 (for an experienced players which can do basic bandik bouncing) and Red Volcano. Anything else... decent, I guess. But no need to even look back to vanilla when I have 80 mods (I'm not exaggerating, this game has more mods than generations) on my PC. But if you had big problems with the base game and couldn't adapt to controls, no momentum or character mod will save your experience. Game feels like it was made with speedrunning on mind so it only is hell of a fun when you're time attacking and... you need high skill. That's all I had to say. I can see why people don't likd this game. I didn't touch on ice physics since I see no ice physics. You can let go of the controller to stop on a dime. But hey, at least Sonic World DX is a really good game that both you and I can enjoy.

Decreasing the acceleration, replacing the air dash with a double jump, and increasing control when spinning into a ball legit makes the game way more fun than the standard experience.
