I get they were going for the Japanese definition where X is used as a placeholder for “Cross” or crossover, but they HAD to understand how it would appear to other people. Again this has done before with things like Street Fighter X Tekken for example. Shadow The Hedgehog was never a spin-off and was always canon. Despite the quality of the game. Heck OG Generations had directly the events referenced 06 despite its own infamous reputation. Heck they even made Sonic Triple Trouble canon due to Sonic Super Stars.
I'm incredibly excited for Black Doom coming back, you're the first person I've seen hate the Black Arms' inclusion lmao. Like it or not, the Black Arms are an essential part of Shadow's backstory, and I'm really interested to see how Ian Flynn handles their story 19 years after Shadow's game initially came out.
I’ll be completely honest, I’ve seen people complain about the level design for Shadow’s levels, and I don’t understand. We’ve BARELY seen the level design. And Shadow’s gameplay looks really fucking fun. He has his Chaos Control back FINALLY. I was worried when I heard the leaks that he would just play like he did in Forces, which is just a carbon copy of Sonic’s gameplay. Now he finally has his proper moveset back and his gameplay actually looks fun. His animations look very expressive as well, and it feels like they learned a thing or two from Dream Teams animation. Anyway, I just can’t get behind people complaining about the level design when we haven’t really seen anything of it.
That’s the thing ,we didn’t see anything of it ,so we’re just judging what we actually saw based on it since it’s the bits they decided to show to sell you the game ,believe me ,I really hope that they just choose the bad bits for whatever reason
I dig the name cause usually (at least in the early 2010s) “name x name” would be the title format for edm songs with more than one artist in them on youtube and soundcloud (ex: “Flux Pavillion x NGHTMRE - Feel Your Love Feat. jamie Lewis” edit: holy hell I did not think that example through lol), BUT I am aware that “name x name” implies a ship cause of 2000s deviant art lol
I have better name "Sonic Generations X Shadow's Memories". I'm too good for this world. Joke side, If Sonic Generations is one to one remaster then we win but if Shadow story isn't good then whatever, we can skip that part and it still a win for us. I cautiously hype for this game although I have original Gen on pc already even though I haven't play the game that all. Also, I hope for the Drop-dash to come back.
Honestly, I was always more interested in the Generations portion of this rather than the Shadow part. Also, if we can get the design of movie Sonic changed, we sure as hell can get this title changed as well.
It would be really cool to get one of the rival boss fights for Shadow to be Sonic from the SA2 space ecolony ark fight, like Shadow is for Sonic in the original Generations. It might be just a rehash, but still fun to be able to play both sides of the fight. God bless! John 14:6 KJV
Its fair to say that the level design we did see was nothing crazy but that accounts for like ~10 seconds of footage. I'll reserve judgement for when we get to see a full stage in action.
What im more worried about is the physics people say they fixed the cyberspace physics in update 3 but i dont see the diffrence i hope they just use the frontiers open world physics i think the level design looks kinda good from the very little weve seen of it if you look closely you can see an alternite path at 0:37 but as you said we should just wait until we see footage of a full stage to cast judgement
yeah exactly its so stupid how people are already starting to judge the level design dispite the fact we've only seen like 5 seconds of a level and a squence where shadow chases black doom though radical highway

Man, I don't think I've ever heard someone say they outright hate/heavily dislike Shadow the Game! Most people just tend to brush it off; that's very interesting to hear
If its gonna be a straight up port, then i hope it ain't no $60 or thats a rip off, even if they put in the Shadow dlc. I'll still get this game cuz Gens n Shadow but if Sonic X Shadow Generations is gonna be worth $60, Sega/Sonic Team needs to add alot of quality good features and make sure the Shadow lvl design n story are great too
With the generations bit I was just waiting for the flash thing between the original and the remaster thing that remasters usually do….it never did,but I’ll be fine if I just got a good generations port in ps4 as for the shadow bit….i do appreciate that they actually attempted to try something extra that involves shadow’s generations however…the levels look really boring ):nothing much to do just boosting and stuff he also has the same forces boost aura for some reason instead of the generations one that I expected ?especially since they already can use the rival shadow who doesn’t even have a different moveset from sonic his homing attack also looks to have a slight delay which could be annoying ,overall best case scenario realistically is just a one to one generations port bundled with a fine shadow story for 40 bucks is a good deal to me
Here's to hoping I don't have to rebuy gens on steam, hoping I can just get the shadow content as dlc. Also something I realized is they might be releasing this game to try to retcon the original gens and make it more clear that the classic characters are from a different dimension and not the past.
They already retconned it again that it’s the past so retcon a retcon again to be different dimension? Why ?(also it’s a remaster so you’re gonna have to buy it)
Not something I've considered, but even if it does, that matters less to me than their quality. I'd rather have less levels that are fun to replay than more levels I don't care to ever revisit.
