If this tailgate is a keeper and the bubbles in the "O" bother you, you can always add some paint across the CHEVROLET as an accent stripe. If not, then you now have some experience to make better parts. I applaud you for even trying to do this. Most people would just buy it or not do it at all.

Hell yes its going to be worth it. I'd suggest you calculate how much the tailgate costed in materials. how many hours it took you at a reasonable wage (40$/hr+) and look at the total. Double it for resale and look into building a few for profit to sell/offset the cost of your truck. As much as i am looking forward to seeing your truck done, if you start a business just building carbon fiber tailgates for 67-72 C10's it would add a whole new level of viewership to your youtube channel and hopefully allow you to do this full time. Knowledge, persistance and money are required to start a business. You spent the money to get the equipment, your gaining the knowledge and this entire youtube channel has required a metric fucktonne of persistance (moving the camera, setting up every step of the way, editing etc etc) I'd bet serious money you could be self employed and successful.
I have done some carbon infusion before and the thing with carbon infusion is you dont know u fup till you loose money and wasted time. I learned that its cheaper to practice using fiber glass. i can honestly say fiberglass infusion is just as good if you plan to paint over it. And its cheaper to use carbon and alternate with fiberglass if the part is not a critical structure. Try look in to S fiberglass. i think combining both has its merits. ❤

This is actually sick! Something I’ve been dreaming of doing to my C10 since I got it! I’d suggest adding some foam core to stiffen it up a little bit, otherwise great process and result!
So hyped to see this kind of energy. If you have a vision and can see the goal go for it. Never let some lame tell you that you can't. I had people tell me I couldn't build this bike, or that car, or that computer w/e... now most my projects are done and literally strangers ask to buy them off me. When you do stuff like this you're making something few people, if any, will ever achieve and that will be notable to anyone with a little insight.
