Funny thing, considering the cut kirby gamecube content we know of, it's likely that dedede's jet hammer and meta knight's shuttle loop might have originally come from that.
My main complain is Kirby's moveset. His moveset should be more akin to Megaman's, incorporating multiple copy abilities instead of the generic kicks Kirby does. And not just copy abilities but other aspects of Kirby to make him feel more like himself but at the same time not too different to how he fights to not alienate people used to his kit And it would work so easily Like beam for side tilt His slide for down tilt Staff for up tilt Plasma spark for down smash Uppercut fighter move for up smash Ice breath spin for nair Tornado spin kick for dair Sword slash for up air His fair could be blowing an air shoot Final Smash should be either Hyper Nova Kirby or Crash Kirby (unless Crash makes it to smash so to not confuse people) Everything else can stay the same pretty much
you didn't mention the mention the rainbow paintbrush where multiplayer is so quintessential that it litterally necessary to play 2 character by yourself if you want to play the game in single player
Dedede having the badges that free fighters from their statues makes more sense than you might think in my opinion. Dedede has been shown, in the Kirby franchise, to always be one of the first people to jump on a problem to work out a solution. He sealed away Nightmare, trapped Dark Nebula, immediately started a (failed) counter offensive against the Haltmann invasion, and was also a key player in the defeats of Magolor, Queen Sectonia, and 02. The only reason we don't see more from him imo is because he keeps getting his mind hijacked. Him making those badges is not super out there. I do wish they had shown off him seeing something weird going on with Master Hand early, and starting on the badges then, but there are bigger complaints to be had with smash in general, aside from one game's plot holes.
Some constructive criticism for the devs if i could give them: 1You don't need to make everything an ancients creation Connectivity is one thing Overusing the same stuff is other 2Rather than having queen sectonia is original name as a random easter egg have a story centering on Taranza other in hyness etc 3 if you're gonna make reference to all stuff integrate it better. Gooey is of the dark matter species but no Game has brought it up
Og kirby stories: Kirbo got his cake stolen beat rat thiefs accidentalmy release star satan then beat it save everyone and get crunck Stories before forgotten land: Here's a new bad guy And a lot of references that have little to do with the main plot Then it turns out there was ANOTHER BAD GUY then beat it and roll credits Also take half of the plot from milky way wishes as a base Seemingly forgetting why Marx works so well
This is a really interesting question because the answer we get is a result of a biased view of Kirby dependant on only one of his three Directors, we're seeing one specific take on the Kirby Universe as a whole. TLDR, SAKURAI's Kirby is perfectly represented in Smash. Kumazaki's Kirby, Shimomura's Kirby, and Sakurai's Kirby are three entirely different Kirbys, and while they do have some overlap, they're always going to be different because no two Directors think alike. They each have different visions for the series, and while Smash is evolving alongside Kirby's current Modern Era, this is Sakurai's world, so we're obviously going to see Kirby through the eyes of Sakurai. That's not to say there's a 'right' answer to which Director's vision you gotta believe in, the beauty of Kirby is that you can experience all three of these separate ideas and have your own understandings and opinions about what Kirby is to you while also seeing what Kirby is to all 3 Directors we've had across the series. I'd say Sakurai's Kirby is portrayed excellently in Smash, from Kirby's playful yet serious when the situation calls for it nature, Dedede being an anti-hero at worst and straight up protagonist at best, and Meta Knight following his own plan, but still being devoted to his core ideas of being a justice-loving swordsman. You can tell that Super Star is Sakurai's Swan Song and always will be, and because I'm a huge fan of Super Star, I can love it and make it a large part of my understanding and viewpoint of the series. (Also, more vids like this and my life is yours. I love it when people get in-depth about this little pink puff!)
Also sad thing about the Phantom Ruby is that they had the chance to retroactively make it better what with Frontiers featuring the ancients, their Cyber Space technology that operates eerily similar to the Ruby, Sage who has a similar red and black glitchy aesthetic to the Phantom Ruby's former wielder Infinite, and the ominous The End that was sealed away on the islands where everything is going down and also seems to have a similar aesthetic to the Ruby. It would've been very easy to tie all 3 of these pieces together. But instead, Sage is Eggman's AI daughter with no explicit connection to anything, The End is just some cosmic horror with no connection anything, and the Ruby isn't even mentioned again after it was destroyed in Forces. Thing had so much potential, only to be wasted.
Sonic literally saw and acknowledged Shadow using Chaos Control (more than once in the X rendition of their first fight), knows how to use the power of the Emeralds because of Super Form, and as mentioned by Tails, the fake Emerald has the same properties as the original, but is just weaker. There's no reason it wouldn't be able to initiate Chaos Control, and there's no reason Sonic wouldn't be able to do it. And if you REALLY wanna get into Emerald lore, remember the mantra Tikal taught Knuckles that describes what Chaos power is and how it and the Emeralds work. "Chaos is Power. Power Enriched by the Heart." So it only makes sense that Sonic, in his desperate situation when he had a strong desire, to get out of said situation, would be able to Enrich the Power of the Emerald with his Heart to trigger Chaos Control. Call it plot armor all you want, but it's plot armor that was explain in the Adventure Duology. It's not BS.
PRIME 4 LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I swear, Return to Dreamland, Triple Deluxe, and Robobot had no business transforming the series' music the way that they did. Sullied Grace, Attack, and Revenge of the Enemy from Triple Deluxe was what got me into Kirby's music back when the game dropped
While I agree that Gourmet Rave might be the most iconic tune from Super Star, I am a bit baffled that you didn't mention Rest Area, as not only keeps appearing one way or another in most Kirby games after Super Star, but it is also used as the Rest Area for Smash's All Star Mode.
The Masked Dedede theme is actually from the SFC version of Kirakira Kids. Also, where are the other spinoffs? While I once thought that Air Ride was the best spinoff in the series, now I consider Dream Course to be the best by a longshot. An incredibly clever and unique game with one of the best and most fun multiplayer modes ever.
I'd say the soul theme of drawcia is more iconic. It left such a big impact it left a trend in the whole series. Edit: I'm surprised you never mentioned morpho knight, that time a butterfly became common knowledge because it replaced a bunch of punchlines
It is criminal how you didn't put Dark Meta Knight's Theme for Amazing Mirror. HAL loves remixing it, and it basically became the main song to represent Amazing Mirror.
Do they? I can only really think of Amazing Mirror, Triple Deluxe and Kirby Fighter 2 in the medley along with Forest/Nature Area. I honestly think they even like Dark Mind's theme more.
Hwo to be an iconic music: Being awesome Being a base for future titles (if you're old) Being the final boss theme (optional) Being a meme (optional but very helpful)
Really great video! Clear a ton of time was put into it. I’d make the argument for Triple Deluxe’s most iconic song being Reflected Laughter purely because I’ve seen it so often in random RU-vid videos or TikToks, more than other Triple Deluxe (even if it’s not my favorite). Great stuff :)
Videos about Kirby music are always appreciated, I really enjoyed this one! Especially the fact you credited each composer as well. I think this is a pretty fun question, I was basically trying to guess what would you pick for each game and I got most of them correct!
I love this software. This game is filled with many players and their memories in Japan, including harmful players, players who are familiar with each other, and players who are too good. あなたと戦いたかった
