To me, the reason people are so harsh on the glitches here when compared to Sonic Mania is due to context. This is the first (partial) Sonic Team Sonic game since 2017, and also superfans are on edge since the previous game was Sonic Seizures Ultimate, and everyone is very uncertain about Frontiers in the coming months. Also there's the fact that these are rereleases, and the expectation is that they should fix more issues than they create (you pointed out a ton of improvements I'd never heard of, but even if fixes outnumber the bugs, there's enough bugs to notice, and a Twitter thread about Angel Island Cum Water will gain more attention than one pointing out the cool new Barrel sprites).
That's completly fair but my problem as said in the video is the overexageration with the amount of glitches, when I get crush in Hydro City I laugh and move on, when other people get similar glitches they make whole videos and threads on why the game is bad, and I think is because of what you said: attention, I think that's a problem with the wider gaming community and not just Sonic. You still make great points, banger comment as usual
I don't think people give enough attention as to how insulting the price tag is. 40 dollars for 3.5 2d games that were made when Moses was a kid. Even with MJ tracks it should have cost 3.5 dollars. I am already reluctant to buy a real modern game for 20 dollars(re2 remake). No way will I spend 40 dollars for a collection of 2d games.
