We are a Husband and Wife team who took up milling our own lumber, and are having a great time. We mill mostly urban salvaged logs, storm damaged, and hazardous removals. We have since taken on off site milling work, and lumber sales. Join us as we create beautiful slabs and lumber, create custom pieces in our shop, and just have a great time running our mill.

1. I’m interested in the communication headset you guys wear when milling. What is it you are using? 2. Fun to see the progress on the Bar Too! Nice work!
Unless you are old enough for retirement and dont need to count your time for monetary value...you will have a hard time making money on a log that was used as a fence post.
That sounds like quite a challenge! White oak is such a beautiful wood, and milling around metal must take some serious skill. Can’t wait to see how it turned out.
1x6 pine at $2936 per thousand-- that's more than 3 times the CME price-- for kiln dried and dressed, who are you kidding????Marv 65 yers in the business, please send me your customer list.
I just did this on a BX2350. I used a 1/2 npt tap. Tapped the old bushings inside the axle tube. Screwed in a 3 or 4 inch pipe straight piece and installed 1/2 npt cap and drove it out from the other side with some long 3/8 extensions. Worked great.
Thank you for the explanation, I have a question to see if you can help me. How do you stain dark this ambrosia maple wood? Oil base o water base? Also do I need to use pre-stain or any other preparations before stain? I wan to make a rustic beam. Thank you in advance
Absolutely gorgeous wood. What a very rare treat to be able to cut that wood. I've got a dulcimer made from recovered American chestnut and it's my treasure. This was a stunning sight to watch you guys cut it and reveal such magnificent beauty. Amazing.
