Thank you so much Andrew for taking the time to show step by steps to change the garage door battery. I am a Ms.Fix It with the exception of electrical and plumbing as I respect their trades. However, after 32 years of marriage I am now divorced and continue to do a lot of things for myself. I ordered the battery from Amazon. When it arrived, I parked my car in my assigned parking spot, left my garage door open as I changed the battery, just in case I fell off the the ladder as I am afraid of heights. Long story short it took me less than 5 minutes to change the battery. Thank you again for your patience and details. Warm regards.
Thank you Andrew! I tried to hire technician to come change the battery for me since the store doesn't have the battery in stock and service company doesnt sell the parts, but the job was too small and the technician ended up ditching my booking for something else last minute. I ended up finding a battery for $25 and followed your instruction and got the job done. Thank you so much!!
Why did you lie it was not 5 minutes it was ONE minute! Thank you so much for the simple and instructional video. It’s so clear! We need more from you!!
After bringing my car to the dealer and spending over an hour of them NOT finding the cause of the beep...I was advised that it might be the garage door opener battery. INDEED IT WAS ! You video nailed the solution. And the wall control DID advise to check battery ! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH !!! Now I have to return to the dealership and thank the woman ( 20 year employee) who suggested that was the likely culprit.
Thanks for the info. Good camera lighting and sound.Maybe its me but I prefer getting to the point quicker and wrapping it up without a chat about how to buy the battery and such.Overall helpful and its the only video I need to see on this subject so I guess I shouldn't gripe about the 3 minute excessive length.Regards -
Since the recent fire, backup battery are now required for new installs in California. My battery died within 5 years and only used it once during a scheduled outage. Could used the pull cord and open it manually but all you could get are battery backup units, so much for the environment.
Thank you very much for making this video clip and it is very useful! I was just about to call a local garage door company to fix it. And after watching your video, I fixed it myself! Thank you again!
I could not understand why my garage was beeping, thank you. I didn't even know there was a battery in there. If the power went out, I wouldn't have even tried to use my garage door. Good to know I can
Awesome video,I should have taped me looking for the beep from my CAR!! My battery lasted 7 years from new, so I had never heard that beep before. I started my car , shut it off, RAISED THE HOOD, still a beep!! Yes, I admit to being an IDIOT sometimes!
There has been a beeping sound in the garage since the weekend and I kept wondering if maybe it was because I accidentally unplugged the unit connected to the wall. I looked at the box connected to the wall and there is a red light that says replace battery. Is it safe to assume I can replace the battery of the light fixture itself so the beeping stops? Or does the wall unit also have a separate battery of its own that needs replacement?
I can't imagine anyone putting up with 12+ days of beeping, so it's probably too late for you but I'll answer anyway. No, it's not beeping because you accidentally unplugged anything. The beeping is because the backup battery in the main unit is no longer accepting a charge. To stop the beeping you only have to remove the old battery, you don't actually have to replace it. Just remember your opener won't open the garage door during a power outage.
The new battery may be low on charge and may need to charge for at least 6 hours .. if it keeps doing it after an overnight charge you may have a bad replacement battery
My wall opener is saying replace battery. I’m not getting the beeping though. What doesn’t make sense is why is the backup battery already bad when I haven’t lost power at all to my house??
I have An overhead door python2 garage door opener and my and my beep is constant andIt will not go off even after I have removed the power cord bored.
Great info. I just wish I could get my battery sooner. Is there a way to stop the beeping beforehand? It's driving me nuts! LOL Thanks for this great video. Last time I ended up paying for a service guy to come and change it for me since I didn't realize how easy it is to do!
