Sorry, but it is absolutely impossible that all is whitin the new specs. if it is the first adjustment. On all +10 pcs gsxs 1000gt i have adjusted it was nessesary to change all the 16 shims, and also by the way it sounds ,i can tell you that clearance is too big.
@redhytech
@redhytech 2 дня назад
I feel the clearance is too much. and the cam chain tensioner needs to be reset. I'm running 20w-50 oil in it but it's about due for an oil change. I may go with synthetic oil this time(10w-40).

Is this 47bhp restricted like for the A2 licence in the UK? I did wonder why it was so terribly slow to accelerate in the video, and maxing out at 120mph... My little Ford Fiesta will do 121mph...
@bddbgdfv5538
@bddbgdfv5538 10 дней назад
From my knowledge/ experience cars have a easier time reaching a higher top speed and bikes have a easier time having fast acceleration. I have a mazda 3 (167 hp, ~7 sec 0-60) that tops out electronically at 118 mph (could go a bit faster than that, maybe 125-130) and a sv650 (74hp, ~3.5 sec 0-60) that tops out at 130. (I got theses numbers while testing on a closed track, of course) Very similar top speed but the time to get there is very different. I can guarantee you that a 50bhp bike will not reach 120 mph. My guess here is that the acceleration just seems slower on video. You should try to record the speedometer on your fiesta 0-120 and I’m pretty sure you will find the acceleration in that video very fast afterward. Edit: And don’t forget the redline on his last gear is lower, so he could go faster than that if he removes it
@redhytech
@redhytech 10 дней назад
in the USA we don't have the A2 licences.. everyone gets the same restrictions or lack of them. i have had the bike over 126mph... but after I removed the secondary butterflies from the throttle body. this video is stock set up.

Your bike is more powerful than that and the rev limiter on his last gear is lower than his others, which he could remove to go faster

I had a 2018 SV650,, it maxed out at 114mph. I've had my GSX-S1000 Gt up to 130mph switching into 5th gear from 4th. those few extra ponies matter a lot. and yes the GSX-S1000 GT is also restricted from the factory.

I'm confused what do you want it to sound like you bought a long stroke k5 engine this is what a lower tolerance k5 sounds like that clatter you hear is the lower tolerances in the engine that gives it 7500 mile oil changes and 15k filters lower specs more relaxed engine means more reliability
@redhytech
@redhytech 11 дней назад
First,,, it is NOT a K5 engine,, it uses the same basic engine block,,but that's it... everything else is NOT the K5. second,, having NEVER owned or used a K5,, I'm not sure what the engine should sound like and NO ONE could tell me a straight up answer.... not even the service department at the dealer. they said it needed to be 'CHECKED'. third,, what I expected was a bike that sounded like it did when I bought it.. it didn't start getting loud until about 1000 miles on it. I've been riding V-Twins most of my life,, in the last few years I have switched to the inline fours. I've been on the internet since before the internet was invented( yup, I'm that old), and over the years the one thing I've learned is NEVER trust the other idiots on the 'NET'. some are good honest people who will help,, others are ASSHOLES. back before the internet we used to have our computer dial up another computer and exchange data. then AOL came along with their free dial-up internet... yeah those were the days... lol. don't get me wrong I love the bike,,,damn thing cruises at 100mph,,,, SHHHHH. so far it's been a great bike. I'm getting ready to go on a all day(10 plus hour) ride and I don't want to break down on top of a hill top in the Smokey Mountains. ride safe my friend
@yomamaa13
@yomamaa13 9 дней назад
@@redhytech that was the most ignorant and pretentious bs reply to what is already known. Yes... the GSXS platform is based and shares components with the K5 engine. Slightly different cam profile and ECU configurations that are more modern, but still a K5 in many regards, if you are an experienced rider. Clearly, you are not, by ANY means. @CaptLawrence was trying to educate you on the fact that it is, in fact, a long stroke inline 4 which you know absolutely nothing about because you are probably a Harley rider that got tired of getting smoked by Japanese bikes. All those years of living, as you claim, yet you still don't have a clue. That's actually worse than being young and dumb. There is nothing wrong with the bike. It's just you being a super twat. ;)

My 2023 gsx s1000 was fine when I bought it brand new when I went back for the first oil change that’s when I started getting that stupid rattle. They changed my chain tensioner and adjusted valves and when I started bike I had no cold starts. Picked it up rode for one day and boom valves sound super loud brought it back they said valves were a little tight and fixed the cold start sensor. Bang and noise came back AGAIN!!😡😡😡 Now waiting too what Suzuki corporate gonna do AGAIN. THIS IS RIDICULOUS SUZUKI WTF.

I own a 2017 GSX S1000, bought it brand new. I thought I was buying a smoothie of a 4 cylinder, boy was I wrong. It's a beast, it rattles and vibes , shouts like someone is strangling "her" and then out of nowhere sometimes you start "her" up and she's smooth as silk, all powerful with little effort. I have made peace with this fact and have no intention of trading... "Her" for a younger 2 wheel beauty, because when she's reved seriously I forget about any rattling.

A lot of those motors make a ticking sound when the engine is started hot. Suzuki are aware of the problem and are yet to find a solution. They have adjusted valves which has stopped the ticking sound on some engines but not others. Apparently the ticking sound doesn’t do any harm to the engine but it annoys some owners.

Its the hydraulic cam chain tensioner. It is simply not getting enough oil pressure to keep proper tension on the cam chain guide. That or its simply wearing out very prematurely. Im a japanese motorcycle mechanic for 38 years and have seen it all with cam chain tensioners. My 2002 ZRX 1200 kawasaki started the cam chain rattle at about every 10,000 miles and after the second cam chain tensioner, I converted to a manually adjustable tensioner. Hopefully someone will come out with a manual tensioner for the GSX-S 1000 GT. I really want to buy a GSX-S 1000 GT but until someone comes up with a solution, im holding off on that purchase. Im sure some savvy owner of one is already working on a solution as we speak. Sorry to write a novel on this but motorcycle engines quickly create very dirty oil by virtue of sharing the engine oil with a transmission and clutch. Hydraulic tensioners can very quickly have their oil passages blocked or compromised by contaminates. Suzuki needs to issue a recall on this engine and resolve the issue. Hope this helps.

Cheap mineral oil can be the problem. Try a double ester full synthetic like Motul 300V. Makes for a very smooth running engine and smoother shifting. Also good for 8500 + miles on the street if you're not racing or doing track days.

Well, Suzuki has a problem for sure. Last summer I rode a '23 S1000 GT a dealer loaned to me and loved it, but I noticed a suspicious knocking sound in the engine. I had just bought a new XSR 700 then and was not in the market for a new bike, but today I went to look at the 2024 GT and came within a hair of buying one. When I got home I started looking for reviews about problems with the GT engine. This is the fifth or sixth video describing the same problem that I have found on RU-vid just this evening. Sorry, Suzuki, no sale. Fix the damn thing and then let me know.

@@Funky_Geek if only suzuki would make a statement on why they fitted this style . Is it needed ? Is it seen as the answer to the poor auto adjusting ratchet type. Or the answer to maintenance free . And they have scored an own goal ? Hope someone brings out a replacement simple bolt and locknut adjuster type or identifies one that already exists that will bolt straight on. My only niggle is ive seen a couple owners report they got adjuster AND chain guides replaced under warranty . Whether that is 100% true or a dealer scam to add on more labour/parts to a warranty claim , or over exaggeration comments from users is anyones guess .

Here is the deal: This is CCT rattle. Newer japanese sport bikes all use the same type of CCT. This issue can be heard in kawas, suzukis, hondas etc. It comes and goes. Most people notice it after the first oil change. It may be related to oil and viscocity + air temp. The bottom line is this: There is nothing wrong with the bike. As the CCT cycles through its phases, the sound will come and go depending on different factors. It is functioning as it should. Once you come to peace with this, the sound will stop bothering you when its there. If you for some reason cannot live with the sound, the only fix is to remove the CCT and install a manual chain tensioner, which will completely fix the sound issue, but requires you to tension it yourself. In my opinion, the best course of action is to IGNORE. The sound is only so annoying because it worries you. Once you stop worrying, it will magically stop sounding so bad. Trust me.

This motor sounds like a sewing machine to me. I work with a lot of bikes. If you think this is a problem you should have a listen at Yamaha Motors especially the Mt09. Most of the time it's the clutch components loosening up or some valve tick in the head. Some even noisy injectors. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. You have to understand that in a car you have noise insulation. On a bike the motor is exposed and thus all the normal noise and vibrations will be audible. Worry not brother. This motor sounds perfectly healthy.
