Float fishing and feeder fishing are my favorite methods. In the winter months, I do some lure fishing for pike and perch. During the summer months I love to go fishing for Carp and other species at various commercial fisheries in Shropshire and a number of venues in Worcestershire. I hope you enjoy my channel and Tight lines!!!

Not the best fishery - dead in the summer old trout pool don’t think there’s anything in it but they’ll bang on about the cat in there
@LR-Fishing
@LR-Fishing 19 дней назад
@valegoat468 I haven’t been there for a couple of years myself now. I see a lot of their facebook posts and the catches look good and plenty of cats get caught and a lot of work looks to have been done on new pegs etc. I’ll never run a fishery down and the guys that run it now are great people - but I was disappointed when the stocking of all those F1’s took place a good few years ago as it used to be a quality place for catching carp from all of the pools, yet now the pleasure/match lakes are predominantly F1 pools. Also the knocking into one of the red and bridge pool was disappointing on a personal note. My favourite pool is also now fenced off as a stock lake and that was my go-to pool for large Perch. So I don’t go there so much these days although I have memories of some fantastic days down there from years gone by!!

The weather has skewed feeding behaviours near me. Chaps using maggots for Rudd are catching Tench and Carp. All I get on my mpellet baits are Bream. Its more like late winter behaviour

Same round here mate. My mate went to the same lake I fished yesterday and only had 2 perch. The angler in the next peg to him had 16 tench and lost several others.. he did that well he ran out of bait. The fishing is all over the place. It’s more like march than June at the moment…

I was fishing at Pipe Hill fishery near Lichfield last Monday. The guy opposite me was checking his pole float setup without any bait and he hooked into a 3lb mirror carp! I've done it a few times at Bonehill Mill fishery in Fazeley, albeit as a young lad in the 1960s. Usually with a bright gold hook for Perch.
@LR-Fishing
@LR-Fishing 4 месяца назад
It happens regularly at heavily stocked venues. Roach and Rudd are suckers for it but carp will take a bare hook out of hunger and desperation. I was a bit reluctant to publish this video tbh as the venue is way too heavily overstocked. It is rammed with hungry carp and in all fairness, it’s not my kind of place… but thank you for your comment, it’s very welcome 🙏 take care mate and best wishes 💪🏻🎣

I’ve kindly been given some very detailed advice from someone who’s really knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to making fishing films, so I’m going to put the information he’s given me into practice going forward! Let me know what you think if you wish - any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Hope you’re well mate 👌💪🏻🎣

Pity they do not do a size 4000 reel as well as it would match the feeder rod better . However have used for carp and Tench up to 10 pounds so far without any problem using Daiwa Sensor 8lb line.
@LR-Fishing
@LR-Fishing 11 месяцев назад
Yes, it is a pity that a 4000 size is not available as I’d definitely get one for my feeder fishing. But all in all it’s a great little reel and for light feeder work, as you’ve found out, the 3000 would probably just about be ok, especially fishing a lead/feeder close in or down a margin. Thank you for your comment and for watching the video! Tight lines 💪🏻🎣

Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it! The pleasure pools at Townsend pretty much all have the same kind of stock in them these days. Not as many carp as there used to be but still quite a few. Mainly F1’s in most of the pleasure pools with a load of roach and Rudd. Skimmers too as well as the odd small barbel. Some very nice Perch in some of the pools too. The carp are still there but because of the high number of F1’s I always find it difficult to get through to them and only find that I catch carp by luck rather than judgement unless I go out stalking them or sitting it out with bigger hook baits. I’ve always done well with pellet, fishy pellets I’ve found better than the sweeter, fruity ones. Same with ground bait, a nice fishy groundbait has always been my preferred choice here. But both work well on their day. Hope this helps 👍🏻🎣

Hi Lee is that the tfgear 10ft compact float rod if so I have that rod and it’s deffo my fave go to rod. Does everything from small to very big fish. Matt hates caught a 37.6 lb carp on one of his videos. Anyway great vid mate love those F1s I was at whiteacres Cornwall in November catching loads of them on Jenny’s lake.
@LR-Fishing
@LR-Fishing Год назад
Hi Barry, no it’s the TF gear compact all rounder rod - basically 4 rods in 1 with 3 quiver tips and a 2ft extension as well as the float top section. I do wish I had have got myself the compact float rod well as the all rounder when I bought it as it is a little stiff in the tip so you tend to bounce a lot of smaller fish off when using barbless hooks. But the stiffer tip can work to your advantage for the soda float as it helps with casting a heavier float. Thank you for your comment and kind words, I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. That sounds great, I’ve never been there but would love to fish it. F1’s are great fun aren’t they 💪🏻🎣

Hi Lee, you’re a brave soul getting out there in what looked like a truly cold and wet day. It’s great to see you again in front of the camera. The pike catch was very nice, enjoyed that. I have put a fair few hours into lure fishing for perch. It’s hard work! But, it is awesome when you get something and you haven’t paid as such for “bait “. I tend to use a much lighter rod and reel set than what you had that session. Otherwise it can be quite exhausting on the wrists, twitching and make that lure come to life. I look forward to your up and coming sessions! Tight lines Lee.

Lee great video i agree 100% the sodafloats are absolutely awesome i have had carp to 25LB fishing the sodafloats.It's deadly and in my opinion it's 1 of the most underrated products in angling i have won lots of matches using the sodafloats best weight so far is 275 LB of carp in 5 hours.It's so dam good there's nothing like it people think it's a gimmick and clearly it's not .Paul of peejaytackle is a really wonderful person he invented the sodafloat what a genius he is to think of such a fantastic concept.The build quality of the sodafloat is top class what amazed me was how sensitive the sodafloat is people think it's just a surface float wrong you can fish it on the bottom no problem the accuracy it delivers the bait is second to none it's incredible i have the full set one in each colour there fantastic can't recommend them enough best piece of kit I've ever bought for fishing and they cast like a dream great video Lee really enjoyed it and both me and you both know the sodafloat iis no gimmick it works perfectly for those who know how to use it properly,keep going with the sodafloats Lee there a game changer.
@LR-Fishing
@LR-Fishing Год назад
Hi, thank you for your brilliant comment! Sorry for my delayed reply but I’ve only just returned home from Spain! Yes I agree, the Sodafloat is a game changer. I’ve only used them a couple of times but I’ve done quite well so far, although I am still learning how to use them. Paul at PeeJay Tackle is a top man - I only owned the black topped sodafloat but after sending him this video and a written review, he very kindly sent me the 2 other colours as a gift which I was extremely grateful for. This just shows what a good guy he is! Hopefully I can repay him by spreading the word a little with more videos. I’m very surprised that another more well known company hasn’t tried to copy Paul’s design as it really is a phenomenal bit of kit. I remember years ago we used spods, fixed helicopter style with a hooklength, a size 10 hook and a whittled down pop up and we caught may carp doing that. But we overfed quickly because of the amount you introduced with a spod and it seemed to draw the fish to the bottom as well as the inconvenience of spilling bait on the cast. But with the sodafloat you don’t have any of these issues and it’s so much easier to use. It casts like a dream, you don’t spill bait on the cast and you can put anything in it in small amounts, which is ideal. It’s just a great bit of kit. All the best to you and thank you for watching my video! Merry Christmas and Tight lines for 2023 and please subscribe if you haven’t already! All the best 🙏🎣

Hi Julie. To be honest I didn’t really like the line the reel comes with. Hi Julie I bought this to go with the Phase 1 feeder I replaced the line after 1st trip. The line isn’t bad but i think spending another £10 for a good quality line is a good move. Line and terminal tackle can never be skimped on.
