HI, I do a lot off hiking across Dartmoor and try to get out there every other weekend, and I have recently started wild camping on the moors too! Here you will be able to see video's and photos off what I get upto. You will be able to see the lovely scenery as well as the rugged terrain that Dartmoor has to offer!
Interesting video. We used to do the perambulation at school for 10 Tors training, a great walk, but we had slave drivers as coaches and started in the dark, saturday morning, bus back to Plymouth lunchtime sunday!! Dartmoor is a great place, many happy (soaking wet) memories. Happy wandering!!!
Thankyou . I wanted to research the terraine to bleak house ruins for my hike on Monday. Helped me alot to know what to expect before I go. I want to do a vlog at bleak house ruins. And to bag as many tors on the way and on the way back to the car . Take care buddy.
I've been on somewhat of a Dartmoor video binge over the last few days, they never cease to amaze me. It truly looks like a fantastic place to visit. Feel like I need to do a tor camp on my channel now. You can never have too much pastry, cake or beer!! hahaha New subscriber for you here buddy!!
Crap weather, heavy fog, wind, what are we waiting for? Perfect conditions :-) Two of my favorite tents I never owned in this video. I might have to break down some day and get them. I've waffled between the two, and now Hilleberg is coming out with the 'black label' Soulo. I have the Snugpak Bunker and the Mil-Tec recon 1 as well as a Wynnchester adventurer 'bedroll'. The Bunker is as solid a tent as you could want, been through some very terrible weather in it and it's never leaked or let me down. I got to your channel from Carl's (Dartmoor Explorer). Great video. ATB from New England, USA.
Like you, I love recording our beautiful Dartmoor. Loving your videos, just came across your channel and subscribed. Looking forward to working my way through your videos now, thank you for sharing them 😁
Oh I am sorry to hear about your mom my friend May her soul rest in Peace. This is good to be in outdoors to Get some change of the situation You going through
Great video, enjoyed watching. Looks like you had a great time. Just stumbled upon your channel, gave video a 👍and subscribed. Look forward to seeing future videos once we're out of lockdown. Stay safe ATB Dave 👍
It’s always interesting to see what others take with them, it’s like a window to their mind...what they find important. And also learn a thing or two. Enjoyed watching! Thank you. Mari
Thanks m8 I am trying to do better video's do content differently now plus add some tunes, but as you know I prefer hiking then videoing/editing and me and tec don't get on lol. You must do the TMW at some time it's a lovely walk. ATB Steve.
Nicely put together mate was great to be reminded of our hike. Was really fun and enjoyable walking with you. We will have to do another one soon. Take care cheers Karl
If you are free on April 8th Jay then Karl and myself are re doing the TMW but North to South this time. Be great if you could make it. It'll be the perfect warm up ready for your TGO
When Karl (cheeeers) said you were doing it in thst heatwave in August I thought you were both nuts!!! Fair play for getting it done. I never did work out where you had to do that divert mind you?? I walked it only a month later and I never had any fields blocked. Great video mate, enjoyed it 👍👍
I did get a bit hot under the collar a few times lol, Also had a couple of days of rain but not enough to replenish the streams etc. Thanks for commenting...
Forget you did this I was waiting for the upload but it's been so long I forgot. Great part 1 looking forward to part 2 happy new year mate take care 😁👍
Enjoyed the video mate. It was such a fun hike have never laughed so much on a walk. Look forward to part 2...the question is do we make it? Lol. Take care cheers Karl 😘
Well documented Steve. I'm possibly doing this trail again in April only this time I'll do it North to South. This brought back some good memories so I'm pretty keen on re doing it again. Looking forward to part 2 mate 👍👍👍
Cheers Nick, I was told by a little birdie that you were thinking of doing that. I think I'm going to do the wainwright this year. Thanks for the comment I enjoy and am better at the hiking then the video work lol.
At the price point its just a status signaling piece of kit. Unless you are going high altitude Alps... A Vango Nemesis will do a better job at mid altitude.. Busted with two hikers... 20th of the price..People love labels and kit ....I am old school and trust the kit regardless of the hype..Rolex ...Seiko ... Go figure...
OK. School Boy error OR obviously not ex Military!! Never, ever use a finger to point a route. Use a point - pencil, blade of grass. A finger is too big!! Overlooking this, brilliant!! I wish more people would do this to highlight their route. Subscribed !! Keep them coming!!
Thanks for watching and the sub, you are right a pointer would be better for more detail but as it was not a detailed route rather a general one I was showing and I was also stopping the map from blowing around with that hand as the other was holding the camera then the finger had to do, Maybe I will do more detailed route showing on next vids if people find it useful to help them plan a route. ATB.
7:49 is actually Sharp Tor then Hare Tor, despite Hare Tor looking sharper. Ger Tor sits over the other side of Hare Tor above Tavy Cleave. Great video Steve. Cheers Max
Nice one Steve a great day for it first day then back to the normal Dartmoor weather. It's a great area Sheep's Tor it's just very steep to get up there😁👍
