A solo wild camp on Dartmoor at Lower Hartor Tor on the 12/05/2018 Hiked out from Hexworthy taking in whiteworks and Nuns cross farm on the way, Return trip taking in part of the Abbots way and fox tor.
Great video Steve where you parked is the exact same spot me and the family parked a week before you went. Weather looked great a lot better than when we camped at lower Hartor Tor😁👍
Nice walk and camp Steve you had some lovely weather good to see you back out. Some very interesting crosses. The Trailstar looks great. Take care cheers Karl
Nice one steve. It's great to see you out useing the ts. This video reminded me of your old school videos really enjoyed it! Was awesome hiking to fur tor with you on the weekend 😁🖒
it is a very awesome solo wild camp trip! Very beautiful views and nice weather! Is there are any wild animals in your place that you have to watch out for camping? In my place is bear country, we must hang up our food high up in tree but there is not any tall tree in your trip so where you put your food ? I like your set up for camping too! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your comment, We don't have any wild dangerous animals on Dartmoor, Mainly Cows sheep and Ponies and the odd fox or two, There are not many trees on Dartmoor there are a few protected wooded area's where you are not allowed to camp as they are trying to preserve them for wild life etc.
Nice one Steve, great footage and informative vid. You got a good pitch on the TS there and some lovely views. Waking up with a view out of the TS or any open shelter is amazing :) Catch you laters, ATB, Dave
looked a great trip, before I got my trailstar some 4-5 yrs ago I too had an akto . The Trailstar is my favourite all time shelter.. tried a few others, but always go back to my trusty Trailstar. tfs. ATB. Daron
When we got to where we was going they enjoyed it but they didn't enjoy the walk there it wasn't far bit it was very boggy we just went to the stepping stones 😁👍
Wow you had lovely weather Steve The farm house looked small up close I thought it was a lot bigger looking at pictures. Thanks for sharing mate and hopefully meet up soon. ATB Mike StayCornish😬
This was great, I see so many of you guys in the UK with that green tent what's the story on that? Cheers for the video mate, subbed & thumbs up. Also not sure if you colored graded this but damn it's just so nice to look at great colors.
Thanks for the sub and comment! The shelter is the MLD Trailstar they are becoming pretty popular in the UK as they are light and roomy with good weather protection. I have not colour graded the video I just use standard settings on the gopro 5 black. I will pop over to your channel and have a look.
The weather looks superb I only wish I was out. I was planning to go to the Outer Hebrides this week but family comes first so had to give it a miss. Nice shelter and video, just one question, which gopro are you using? I've been thinking of getting one but don't know if they are worth the money.
Hi Paul It is a shame you have had to postpone your trip but family comes first and you will be able to go again. The weather was superb on this outing, I use a GOPRO 5 I don't get on with it, I prefer my old point and shoot sony to be honest but I dropped it in a stream and it is now very poorly lol.
es it is waterproof, but the batteries don't last long and the wind noise is a bit of an issue, to be honest I wish I had bought a waterproof point and shoot. You don't have much of a screen to see what your filming but on the plus side it is small and light.
