I was bullied at my old job. I couldn't take it anymore. I tired with HR and manager. Sadly, the managers didn't help and thought I'm the problem. I'm hard worker, kind to everyone and the customers. I left and found a better job. It's weird when started a new job and everyone is so kind and they all talk to me.
I would really caution against the New Age, Law of Attraction stuff at the end (on the "Zoom Out" section). This toxic positivity undermines what is an otherwise TERRIFIC video with subtle suggestions that victims are somehow to blame. While it's true that we're all accountable for our own lives, some people are just truly awful to whoever they can be for one reason or another, and some people blatantly discriminate for no good reason. Blanket statements aren't good advice in these situations. LOVED the rest, though!
I am glad that the video was suggested on my home YT. Thank you so much Ginny and also John for this wonderful video with so many insides for me. As I am in the same crossroad, I can relate so much and both of you are motivated me. Hope the best for both of you and us!
They seem to play favorites with married guys. I think they're intimidated by single guys, that's why it's harder to get a promotion until you're married or have kids. Insucure yuppies to the max
Yes, an incompetent manager masking their fear by trying to control everything. That's the absolute worst to deal with. I'd rather deal with an outright asshole who knows what they're doing.
I was mandatorily transferred into job the company couldn’t fill. I was happy and successful in my previous that I had for over 2 years. I had a great supervisor and director. For the last two months I hate my job in string part because of my now supervisor. He didn’t want to be bothered with questions that he thought he already answered. If I asked he just didn’t answer. It’s toxic and intimidating. I have to learn this job but the supervisor has shut me down so to speak. Demands that I just do it. I can’t just do it. The job is completely different than what I did for the first 2 years in the previous position. I can’t sleep. I can’t get my stomach to settle down. I’m crying two or three times a week. I start dreading work. Oh late Saturday come Sunday and and and I have no peace and I fear making a mistake. I fear not knowing what I’m doing constant fear and I just wanna go home, and see how I can be successful under these conditions why he would want not to be successful. Why wouldn’t he want me to be? Please tell me what I can do I wanna go back to the other position that they took me out of and let somebody else have this position.
You are spot on about job resignations in the workplace. Sense of purpose is all that matters to an individual that wants better from life. Take your roses Ms Clarke😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🎉🎉
I've been cyberbullied in my workplace and I feel my looks attracted the bully in the first place, I did leave the place for good but how can I alter my face that attracted that bully I understand I can't wait for the bully to change Being a man of power, that person still gets people paid to cyberbully me How can I even get through this
Managing people is a skill. Just like if you were an Engineer. You have to have skills to do that job. Companies are more than willing to promote and hire individuals who don't have any management skills but to the company it's a natural progression to move from their current position to a management position. It's ridiculous. Just because someone was good at programming or doing some other specific job they shouldn't be promoted to manage people unless they have the skill! I've seen so many failures that cost the company good people and a lot of money.
Thank you Ginny. Your insight on this topic has been very helpful. I recently just experienced this scenario. Every thing you shared makes sense. Appreciate you!
