I have continually threw my wife and my marriage to the side and acted selfishly. 21 days ago I felt as if I had done too much and thrown my entire life away due to my selfishness. As I listened to my wife pour her heartache out at me as she drove us home after finally confirming what she knew to be true, I opened the car door and went to throw myself out into the freeway. I had it my low. I felt so ashamed, broken and unworthy of everything. I immediately turned to God for refuge, and have sought him everyday since. This message hit me in the right place at the right time. I know God can restore me and make new what is broken. Thank you for speaking through Matt, God bless.

I admit I don’t know anything about this church, but this bold young man of God is sharing beautiful, anointed facts and testimony about sharing the saving love and grace of Jesus Christ, and I’m sorry, but this congregation feels dead, certainly unwelcoming and unloving, especially with a guest pastor!!! Very sad!!! I pray Holy Spirit lights a fire in the hearts of these people!!!🕊✝️💞
I was there in person, and people were supportive and receptive to what he was saying. He used many one-liners, and the crowd reacted positively, driven more by conviction. I hope that clarifies things.
So that is a very unfair statement. I was actually there. The reactions were louder than normal and he definitely was moving the crowd. The crowd reactions aren’t amplified on the mic like you would expect. From the people I talked to that were also there, they said this message was moving and inspired them to share their faith more.
Love listening but it’s getting hard recently. I’d rather hear the precious sound of a crying baby than the constant shouting and out of place clapping from the person in the front the last few weeks. Don’t make bring the word of God to folks about you by doing that. Sometimes you just need to listen.
The biblical art of friendship was something I only ever experienced in the gay community. The hate and judgement and “conditional love” I have experienced in every church convinces me that the sin of Sodom in Ezekiel 16:49-50 is performed regularly by the modern Evangelical church.
Matt Chandler’s rant on civil rights sounds like he’s trying to convince himself. His comments actually proved the point that gay is a civil rights issue. I suspect the moral gymnastics he took to employ his father and not tell the congregation he was a pedophile speaks volumes as to his own corrupted thought patterns.
If you are a man who feels the call to preach/teach in pastoral ministry, seminary is a must, especially if you’re planning on doing it vocationally in the US. Most churches are looking for a formally educated leader. You will have more opportunities if you get a seminary degree.
It’s just not my experience. Gee would have given himself to obedience to Christ in prayer and humility than me serving the church, and yet, like job, I was afflicted. Only when I accepted I was born gay and can’t change that did I feel God’s peace and the Spirit move in my life. Blessings to you. But you’re doing such harm to Christian brothers and sisters like me. Depression and suicide are the fruit of your message. There is no choice. You can’t pray it away. We are born that way. And it’s like nothing else in your life. It is a cardinal feature of who we are as humans fearfully and wonderfully made. God didn’t call me to celibacy. God called me to glorify him and enjoy him forever. The ONLY way I can do that wholeheartedly is as a gay man being the man He created.
I’ve been playing keys for 15 years and since then I’ve developed tendinitis in my wrist from playing. The money isn’t everything but people don’t understand the wear and tear our bodies go through playing instruments. It’s a skill that we deserve to be compensated for.

Love Matt. Love listening to this from Canada. But saying that anything disqualifies a person from vocational ministry I believe is not biblical. Now, some things may disqualify you from certain specific ministries. But nothing should automatically disqualify you from ALL vocational ministry. Every person in the Bible God ever used has a past so bad that it would have disqualified them then.

Heck, the person responsible for writing most of the new testament and one of the most influential missionaries in history was a mass murderer before he got saved. The problem with churches today is putting limits on God's forgiveness and power to change hearts. And I say this with respect cuz I really respect matt
