Is a kitchen hood vent thats above my stove sufficient? I know in the video you say its fine, but i am just wondering if this could become a fire hazard down the road with chaff build up gettng into the hood vent?
Thank you for doing a video about Liberica and Excelsa coffee. This is really insightful. I’m from Lipa Batangas. Liberica is part of our city’s history. I’m a 25 yr. old coffee enthusiast and I started to fall in love with coffee at 18. Now, I’m going into farming Liberica and just planted seedlings this year at our spare land in Philippines. 🇵🇭 I also use it at my small coffee shop for our espresso based drinks from the local coffee federation. Currently, I’m practicing roasting Liberica and Excelsa on my own so this video was really helpful to me.
If I start at charge temp of 250 degree for 500 gram as suggested in this Q&A, for an excellent roasting process, what is the typical temperature at 1:00 and 2:00, and the rate of rise at 2:00 (which it is said here it reach the peak of ror)? Thank you.
I live in Scandinavia and both in beer and coffee I disagree with my countrymen. I like stouts, not IPAs, I like the chocolate, caramel and nuts of coffee, not the flowers. I have been very doubtful about what homeroaster to get. The Behmor-programs convinced me.
Interesting results. Caffeine is a natural insecticide, it's part of the plants defense system. Is the level of caffeine found in a bean perhaps more a response to local environmental conditions rather than the variety?
Thanks for this interview, it definitely helped convince me to get the Link. It seems like Sam's heart is definitely in the right place, and at the same time he approaches things very scientifically.

I have a question, my app always gives me a fan action of 0.005 in all profiles with different coffees, I have noticed when I use the software that my real speed graph is below the blue one programmed in the curve so I increased the fan action to 0.150 and the graph improved, is this normal or is it a bug in the app?
I record 1st crack when I hear three cracks, sometimes 15-20 seconds after hearing the very first first crack, is this correct? Is there a more accurate way? Thanks for all your great videos on the Link.
That's correct, as you do it. You mark it when rolling cracks, not the first ones. Usually FC appears where it's supposed to be in the profiles therefor you can also use the time preference if you don't feel comfortable marking first crack. But if you do, it's more safe to mark it manually.
Most probably you will never need to calibrate the machine. It has mainly been a topic for people that had the old chaff collector and upgraded. If ever you need to calibrate it, you do it only once as in the video. The BOOST kit will then adapt the settings according to the batch sizes.
The “C” button and then the “P3” ? But in the Operations Manual it says: The “P3” button and then the “C” ! Is it important in which order to press the buttons?
"Hi, I'm Korean. Would it be okay if I translate the script of your video and post it on my blog? Of course, I'll mention that it's your video and include a link to it. The content of the video is really great, but I think there are many people who would like to listen to it in Korean. Thank you for the great video!"
Yes, you can roast Decaf and it comes with one Decaf profile. If you need to adapt it, then you might reach out to the community or adapt the existing profile.
I keep seeing reference to some wifi module in the firmware... where do I get this wifi module? Issue for me is the roaster is no where near my desktop computer and I don't have a laptop.
Very informative Videos. I have a question; I draw a roast profile on KaffelogicStudio and I want to apply this while im roasting. Which steps should I follow? Thank you.
Save it. Connect your machine to the PC while Studio Software is running so that the profile is synched to you roaster. Then just chose the profile on your machine
@@CoffeeRoasting I struggle with Kaffelogic first 3 day especially pre-heat settings while designing a profile but i get used it now. I highly recommend this sample roaster especially when its merge with your roasting knowledge become a more efficient and funny tool. 🙌🏼
Damn good review!!!! Thank you! Has anyone done a comparison of particle size measurement between this device and other [more expensive, move accurate] devices out there?
I'm not in the loop when it comes to the AiO. Here you should ask the Aillio team directly. All I can tell you is, that they are intensly working on it and there is also a AiO newsletter, where they update regularly.
@@CoffeeRoasting I agree, there isn't really competition in this segment with bullets refinement. I can't say it's cheap or affordable but there is still no alternative
Yes. Take any roaster from Alibaba, where you get support from a team with expertise in coffee roasting and with a local support team to make sure, you are not running in too long down times once you have built your customer basis and customers are placing their first large orders for christmas. I hope, this helps.
Coffee roasting produces smoke. It's relative to the amount of beans you roast as well as the roasting degree. Each manufacturer have solved it a bit differently so if you need help, you might ask for a specific machine (although I usually talk about it also in the detailed video of the machines.
Yes, they are working very reliably. There was a time, where we've had quite some issues with the heating elements but since about two years, they use a new heating element, which is working perfectly. Of course such issues are being handled by us within the warranty.
Could have various reasons. Better go to your seller to seak support by giving them more detailled infos. It could be a lose connection, wrong settings in artisan, hardware issues,...
Thanks for sharing your opinion. In particular the Kaffelogic Nano is incredibly popular with home roasters. But also there you can repeat roasts fully automated which means you can roast 500g or more in an hour without any effort.
If you look for cheaper options, pop corn machines are very popular and work really well. Or hot air fryer. There are a lot of infos / tutorials about it online.
Hello Thanks for the beneficial video. I would like to ask, how do we decide the 1st crack timing? I got a bit confused. It would be great if you can help me to understand this point. Regards, Mohd Rafeea
