This series is one of the most creative uses of the genre I've yet found (plus it delves into multiple genres and uses an incredible amount of different techniques). Thank you so much for putting in the passion and effort that sadly is lacking in many other projects. The quality of the story and the quality of the visuals/audio make this stand up there with the greats. Very excited to see this continue and for it to get the attention it deserves. Seeing how much (what was already quite good) your style(s) have improved from the beginning to the most recent upload (at time of writing, The Farm) is truly inspiring). I'm hoping that leaving a superthanks on this video rather than the most recent release pushes it into the newsfeed of other fans of analog horror. Hope you're well. Cheers! Side Message to commenters: Consider giving a few bucks to your favourite creators! Don't' if you can't but if you can I highly encourage it. Donations aren't just for livestreamers :)
God dang, this is some of the best analog horror series I have seen, the story, the world building, it's all amazing. I applaude your work my friend, you truly are amazing and I will eagerly wait for what you cook up next. Great job :)
Why is a random scientific lab in North Alaska inventing machines to connect to parallel universes? Why is there even a random scientific lab in Buttfuck, Alaska? How do they even get people and supplies out there? Or people to come out to maintain equipment? Or supply the gross amounts of electrical power they'll obviously need to power a scientific lab that's apparently inventing machines to connect to parallel universes? This shit doesn't make sense.
Why in the world isn't this everywhere and yet people talk about (sorry to throw shade) the low effort nonsense like people fusing with godzilla suits in a powerpoint presentation? This is so well thought out, so well made, so well executed. It's genuinely imaginative and unnerving. Could well be made into a movie or TV show
God DAMN this is good! Excellent voice acting and great sound design! This is the best analog horror I've seen yet! Looking forward to the next chapter.
If I was some kind of creature in one of these abyss riden worlds I would be trying to get through one of these fissures to Earth. It has to be better (with more abundant food) then where I come from.
If this was real I would think that the smiley face transmission came from our universe. We are not in the universe targeted for attack because of we have different organizations and media companies, not to mention the particular deep sea trench in the first video doesn't exist, but here we are, watching it all, doing nothing to help while we sit here comfortably. We are watching there world die with a big smile on our face.
I saw your updates on Twitter for this entry and I have to say PLEASE take all the time you need. This was brilliant! You have so much talent. I look forward to your next video.
Well this just gave me a weird dream. Jiant moths and other insects were flying over the wall and were regularly shot. Completely unrelated, five individuals(previously siix, but she got errased from existance entirely) were trying to figure out how stop these creatures from coming through. One of them somehow got blood or plasma of one of said creatures on his hand. This resulted numbess throughout the hand and body and hallucinations of a tall, lanky figure drawing ever closer.
My theory? All the screwed up stuff we’ve seen is from the other dimensions. The explosion in the arctic is the emergence of SOME of the fucked up things coming into our world from ALL those other places…and now they have infiltrated out, well, everything…
i really like this! i'd say the jumpscares were largely ineffective, though they did help build this terrifying tension present throughout. i hope you expand on this atmosphere of dread even further in whatever comes next.
Analog horror creators need to start hiring voice actors. Not text to speech, not AI voice reading, but ACTUAL voice actors. The only things on TV that have NOT had voice over is midnight title cards or those end of night cards letting you know the station is off air. Every second something is being broadcast MONEY IS BEING SPENT. It means that the broadcaster needs to have you WATCHING it in order to push ads to you so they can MAKE MONEY. So in no scenario when something like this is being broadcast is it NOT being VOICED. If you're going to adopt this 80's esthetic which is predominant in analog horror you need to put effort into it being believable as a period piece. Without it it is no different than the shaky cam caught on video style that quickly became cheap and heartless.
As someone who frequently experiences anxiety, I love the added detail that every step of the "safety procedure" actually has the opposite effect of what it claims to be doing. Isolation heightens mental stress, turning off the lights heightens your peripheral senses, wearing headphones dampens everything *but* your auditory hallucinations. Whoever made this tape *wants* a broken test subject
i gett you pride yourself on your sound design, but it kind hold this project back there isn't really a moment of quite in the thing like unless these are the noises the creatures put off it makes it feel less realistic and feel well produced like a Hollywood over budget action movie. like the sound is in your face all the time, an as a dubstep fan and artist i love good sound design but its simply to much.
XD that was funny, man i was hoping for so much more an got let down with a dirt cheap FNAF/sonic.exe jump, not scare cause i seen the eye am im like it going to a trashy jump, better idea would have been to have the light blow as it blew it shine a quickly light on the figure ma 1 or 2 frames to make people go back to look for it. an then have the text in the dark at in the center say god please help me an not have it as a ping have it sound as if someone was crying saying it but it muffled. or some shit.
so there are other humans in the multiverse who can stop what is to come but choose not to for no real reason being they said they will not interfere or help that must mean they have helped in the past some other universe in the past an got hurt or some shit but if they can stop it why would they not?
Adam labs then "loading Eve" wild how its lost on so many folks that much of anslog horror lore is biblically based. Almost like someones trying to reach out to the younger generations. I hope itd the right light side.
This has to be one of the most criminally underrated analog horror channels operating. The pacing is the thing that sets this apart from so many others in the field. Chilling Abyss exemplifies the story telling metric of granting enough information to pique the watchers curiosity, but not so much that it feels deliberately obfuscating. You're given enough narrative rope to hang your anxious inquiries upon, putting the viewer in that perfectly unnerving sweet spot of ineffable apprehension. It may take time to understand why you're afraid whilst watching Chilling Abyss's videos, but I've yet to feel underwhelmed or disappointed with the outcome of any of them. They've earned my lingering sense of cold dread!
15:40 I think the entity in the game here is the same entity in Mythical Creatures judging by what we see here. The feet in the doorway is that little girl's. We're seeing things from the monster's perspective!
My theory is that Ian Parker or whatever he became after the lab disaster is being made to play this anomalous game and that the entity is Dr. John Walker who created the machine that first sent out the signal.
Man i love these theories!! i've been meaning to get back into story writing and analog horror + all the theories in the comment sections make for great inspiration x)
Somewhat spoilers for the vid but I just wanted to say: God I am so glad I found this series through just looking up analog horror one day. The premise and setting you have made are so interesting and applying the Fermi Paradox on a multiversal scale is outright ingenious. Keep up the good stuff!
