Uncovering the heart of football through individual journeys and community histories shaped by the beautiful game that connect us to ourselves and each other.
You didnt saw rhe other side of the stadium. You should pass under the stdium to the other side to see how things where are very different. You lost the best im sorry to tell you that...
My friend, dont listen to the comments in this section. There are a lot of people that are jealous about Braga because we actually fight inside pitch against their teams unlike the poor Guimarães that everyone feels pity about because they're too bad. They try to criticize our atmosphere (ignoring the sound problems of the stadium) because, deep down, they know how bigger Braga is compared to Guimarães. More fans, better team and has way more future. I strongly advise you to go to Guimarães for the derby so you see our fans shutting up their stadium like we did last season (just check videos online). A big hug and glad that you visited the best derby in Portugal by far!
The stadium is beautiful, but otherwise its pretty shit. The accoustics are terrible, and the stadium is basically a wind tunnel, horrible in the colder months. Braga and Guimarães have hated each other for centuries, it's not only down to football. They're easily the two cities in Portugal who share the most animosity towards one another.
Braga is forever a small and plastic team, Vitória remains the symbolic and historical icon it is, even if it goes through harsher phases. If Braga had even a season of crisis, the reality is that they would quickly go down. Vitória remains afloat because of the associate base that will support the structure no matter what. Different mentalities. Braga is a city of the big three still. Peopl would rather "win" than support their local associations or promote their localities growth.
On a sidenote, you seem very nice mate, as well as informed, really beating the stereotype there hahaha, all jokes aside, I hope you enjoy the country for what it is, we're far from being even good, but our people are mostly honest and we like to get attention to the things we enjoy and cherish, so really, a big hug from a Guimarães bloke.
@@henriquepacheco7799this dude lives in a parallel world. The reality is that Guimarães has way more Benfica and Porto fans than local team fans and the whole media created a myth around them so they have anything to talk about other than losing everytime to Braga. They're just known to be the club with more racist fans in Portugal (check Marega case), many left their stadium at half time when they lost 0-5 to Braga and they're known to fill the stadium with offered tickets from Cachorrão (a restaurant there). Guimarães is just a small club that no one really cares about and takes wins against Braga like champions league titles.
I'm truly one of those ppl who believe you're born a benfica supporter. it's part of you. even if they lost every single game until the end of history it's in my blood. benfica forever. I go to games often and even when we loose the benfica spirit is always there.
You should try the match but in Guimarães if you have the chance. Stadium is right in the middle of the city, has a far better design for watching football then the pedreira. Far better stadium crowd and overall feel of a match. Give it a try, maybe tomorrow against Porto!
The biggest, sure, but many people said Minho is better. I think because of the meaning for the towns. It's a matter of a regional / geographical identity. People all over Portugal support Benfica and Sporting so it's not as specific or concentrated. That's my view, anyway. Thanks for watching! I made a Benfica video, you should watch that one!
@@BecauseFootball_ And you're absolutely right, to Braga, Vitória and to a lesser degree Boavista/Setubal/Académica/Belenenses fans, the big three are a cancer on Portuguese domestic competition, Benfica being the prime example, a team with the associate base of benfica, should never exist in a country like Portugal. When Benfica plays it's almost as if the national team plays, in terms of audience. It's absolutely detrimental to the quality and competitiveness of the domestic leagues.
The stadium is beautifull but braga has very few fans and its kinda plastic (only got somewhat relevant in the past years). Its kinda like a Man City but without the titles or quality. To be fair, i think the stadium doesnt offer a good ambience for closer / louder athmosphere, it looks great, but isnt good for the crowd (specially since more than half the stadium is always empty).
I have to say I agree about the stadium. The sound didn't travel very well in the upper level. I think it would have been a more energetic experience in the lower level. Now I know for next time :) Thanks for watching bro!
Obrigado for the kind words! Even though Portugal is a relatively small country, your passion for football and talent is very impressive. Great food, too! Pao de Deus is my new favorite pastry haha. I am having a wonderful time!
If you want to record sound in football stadiums you'll need a new mic. your phone mic only records sounds close from you and not the total area of the stadium.
You're right, and I switch between GoPro and Iphone so the sound really changes often. I am afraid to bring too much equipment into the stadium though because many places ban "camera equipment". I need to fly under the radar. Thanks for watching!
bro the channel is called Because FOOTBALL! So give me some credit haha! I use football and soccer interchangeably. Thanks for watching. And a friend of mine called me Steven Wilson 10 years ago so I actually really appreciate your reference lol
Thank you! I think it's important to share the story of the culture and history. The match is just a coincidence! Sometimes I do a better job than others. If you like my video style, you should check out some of my videos from Argentina! So much culture and tradition to learn there. Thanks for watching!
@@BecauseFootball_ well it takes more fans its bigger the eagle i get that but stadium and ambience combined no one beats Alvalade imo but im a SCP fan maybe a non portuguese could make u change ur mind (theres videos)
@@BecauseFootball_ man I was kinda enjoying your vlog till you said that the craddle of the nation is braga! Guimarães is!!!! that´s a big big offense even though I know that you didn´t knew. braga isn´t too the invincible town, that is porto. someone was joking with you...
ah I meant the region is the cradle...I think I did call Guimaraes the birth city of Portugal. Sorry for the confusion! I'm trying to learn alot in a short period of time. Thanks for watching, though!
@@BecauseFootball_my friend, the craddle of the nation is actually Braga. Although there is a myth created by Guimarães people, u can visit by yourself the Sé de Braga and you find there the parents of the first king of Portugal (Dom Afonso Henriques)... Next time you come to Braga, you can check with your own eyes
CD Santa Clara is from the Azores. On the island of Sao Miguel. They have a long history and have played in the top flight several times as well as played in European competition. Most recently the Conference League a few years ago. They were relegated 22/23 from the top flight to the second league. Won the second league the next year 23/24 and returned to the top flight this season 24/25.
The biggest club in Portugal the number off total titles is the same that Porto, but Porto wins a lot of super copa that is one game. Benfica have 7 final of league of Champions and win 2 , porto have 2 finals and win. Benfica have One ibéric CUP, and 3 finals off the Europa league. And have more 7 leagues that Porto.
Amazing to see someone enjoy a Benfica game! Even crazier to see that I was in your video! Just on the corner while you were speaking, I was seated very close to where you were! Come back soon!
