it's crazy just how much work it takes to remove all this when so many other brands are just a twist off canister style filter at the bottom. Just absurd
Thanks. I thought I needed to buy a replacement dish washer, but 4 hours of cleaning did the trick. The filter had never been maintained over the 15 years I have owned the machine. Who knew? There was slime in all the passageways. It was brutal getting it all out, best I could. I can't imagine many home owners doing what all is required here. Some, but not many.
Ok. I am back with my strap wrench and finally got the top threaded sleeve off. I still can’t get the shell under to pull off as she’s an in the video. I got to drop something something different to loosen it up. Any suggestions?
Hi DYI, any idea where one can buy replacement button valve springs and/or spray nozzles of the one you have above? I have repaired 2 of these sprayers by stretching the springs but in our complex we have over 100 identical faucets that will need to be serviced going forward. Thank you in advance!
Damn, you get a sub just for being so helpful. Easy peasy, no B/S, straight to it. We ruin so many things just by taking them apart incorrectly. Except now, I have to take the pump apart because I can hear something inside there.
Thank you for posting it gave me the confidence to pull harder to remove the bottom cover. Of notee, some models you can remove the filter screen from the base by inserting gently prying all around the plastic on the screen edge. It comes off like a snug cottage cheese lid. There is only a slight lip..
Thanks for a great video that saved my weekend! This was on my task list when my wife was out of town for the weekend, and we were fed up with the sprayer mode splashing water everywhere. I followed your steps, and they helped me get mine apart. The buttons on mine were a little different, and the little cartridge cylinder was a little trickier to remove and access the spring, but I never would have made it that far without your clear and detailed video!
So the part that screws into the sprayer head went back into the faucet after I took the sprayer off. Now it's stuck and I can't get it out to put the sprayer head back on. Any tips?
Thanks for the video i had a similar problem with the faucet ,the stream wasn't working i did exactly as per your video, and now both the stream and spray both are working Thanks
A genius indeed! I’ve been dealing with this issue for 6 months….coming home to a pool on a pool. Changed GFI, cleaned pump, etc. with no luck. Was getting ready to replace pump and tried this trick. Works like a charm. Can’t thank you enough for sharing!
Wonderful video and I'm in the middle of cleaning mine right now after it started making loud sounds. I have removed so many little pieces of broken plates, lemon and grapefruit seeds, chunks of plastic and straws, wads of lint, and other debris that was blocking the flow but I cannot for the life of me get the blade cover off. It's that very last cover that you are using the pick tool on to pull it up. For some reason mine just will not budge or lift up. Do you have any advice or tips? Edit: nevermind. I got my utility knife out and ran it down along the entire seal where that cover seats against the main housing. It was caked with detergent residue. I cut through it and then was able to remove it. It's unbelievable how much residue and debris was in here. Three blade gear was completely wound up with lint, too, which was preventing it from spinning. Now that it's all cleaned out I can't wait to reassemble everything and run it! It should be like brand new! 😅 LOL
Those two ‘rubber boot’ (passenger and driver’s side) drains can be easily pulled out and cleaned. No need to vacuum or poke them clean. They slip right back in. Hope that saves time and helps.
Awesome video!! I have the exact same Kohler faucet. Mine was very stuck, but eventually was able to lift and apply white lightening grease. Also, I too took off the nut and cartridge....
This is great and everything, but for 4 bucks at HD or Lowes you can get a replacement unit you do not have to pull apart - the chain is like a buck, so remember you have the option to pay 2-3 more and not have to do surgery
So how do you get stuck debris trapped inside of the screen that’s underneath the spinner? I’ve soaked it, tried krud kutter, baking soda and vinegar and can’t seem to flush it out of there. It just circulates in there…..
In videos when you say “dont do that” think how many people are watching this video because that already happened…that’s the only reason your video popped up and I’m watching your video.
Perfect video. Thank you. I’m not reading through comments, but if anyone has issues with the top button like I did, the white plastic has tabs on each side that just pop off instead of having to unscrew. Then it’s the same concept with the spring.
