I'm a fan of .22cal guns as like yourself I started hunting with .22 rifles at the age of 12 I just turned 63 in July. My two favorite I have owned being the Ruger 1022 Sporter Model and a Remington 572 BDL Pump sadly neither that I still own. I do have a couple Marlin .22 rifles a.semi auto and a bolt action single ahot. I also used .22 air rifles for squirrel hunting and still love target shooting with air rifles extremely economical to shoot and more than enough power for small shot. Enjoyed the video and seeing your collection of .22cal guns.

my hunting rifles are 308 then 7mm rem magnum then 30-06 and then i have a 303 british then a few months ago i got a 556 and my wife also runs a 308 deer gun so we keep at least 200 rounds for each of them but im working on getting alot more of the 556 and we both carry a 9mm hand gun so we keep buying a few boxes of the 9mm each month 1 box for target shooting and the other box is put up in case we need it still stacking up the 12ga ammo i just started the prepper stuff 3 years ago but have 45 years of hunting time put in and so far as 22lr goes have a few thousand rounds of that put up for rabbit hunting and it takes the same mussel and eye hand control to shoot the 7mm mag or the 30-06 as the 22 does so i also reload my own ammo so when i do shoot my hunting ammo i save the brass to reload them same for 12ga shot shells but with the shotgun shells i just reload the slugs and number 1 buck shot bird shot has gone up to much just as easy to buy that stuff

Lots of good thoughts on this video. One thing that a lot of people dont think about is prescription drugs. Most of us older folks are on some sort of daily medicines. Another thing is physical health. Im almost 64 and spent 30 years in the coal industry. My health isnt very good. I've had two spinal fusions and do good to walk very far, so I know i would have a hard time cutting wood, carrying water and such. First sid supplies are another consideration. Basic first aid supplies are pretty easy to accumulate. I am talking about things like antibiotics, cold, flu and allergy meds. Medicine for diarrhea, constipation and other stomach ailments. Lets face it a big change in your diet can cause some pretty serious stomach and intestinal ailments. Some if not treated could csuse death. A person in these situations is probably going to have toest some questionable food. A lot to think about. I was glad to hear you mention hickory cane corn. Thsts all that people raised when i was a boy. I love that, but hardly anymore raises it. Cut off the cob and fried is hard to beat. Add several big slices of fresh tomato to go along with and you're right in business.
