When I was studying for masters, I could not find good material online in video or audio format to study from. Being a father of two little kids, I knew how useful it would be if I utilised my driving time etc for studying, thus I started recording the notes for myself. It was so convenient to study without opening my notebook, as I am always busy travelling and performing my daily family chores.
The idea was a blessing for me, after clearing my Master's license, I decided to do the same for my fellow seafarers.
I intend to create enough data in audio & video format, so that a fellow sailor who has not touched the book throughout his assignment, could only go through the video series to get absolutely confident about his knowledge & pass his exams!
I may be creating the videos but credit goes to every hard working sailors who made great notes for these exams, and allowed free distribution of them!
I wish all the sailors fair wind, calm seas and a great MMD result.
Good day sir Thank you for making these videos You have made excellent videos. This video needs correction on 11:45 Function for engineering department is wrong Function 3 controlling operation of ship and care of person on board Function 4 Marine engineering Function 5 electrical electelectronics and control engineering Function 6 Maintenance and repairs. Engineers do not have function 1 and 2

Will you please advise me if the particular terminal where my ship is going is at higher security level then in that case what will be the line of communication.
This was a great and informative video which was summed up in just 11 odd minutes and saved a lot of lot. Thank you and please keep making such videos.
Thanks.... well explain..... i hv one Q , if vessel is new (yard delivery) in that case how this harmonised surevy will bring all on same time....for renewal
The harmonized system of survey (HSS) typically begins during the construction phase of the ship. The classification society and flag state authorities are involved in various stages of the ship's construction to ensure that it complies with the applicable rules and regulations. The surveys mentioned earlier are conducted at different stages of the ship's construction and completion. They include a final inspection of the ship to ensure that it complies with all the applicable rules and regulations. The specific timing and sequence of these surveys may vary depending on the classification society and flag state requirements, as well as the complexity of the ship's construction. However, the goal is to ensure that the ship is safe, seaworthy, and compliant with all relevant regulations before it enters service.

the ESP survey report with its findings and action steps is the strongest indicator of a completed survey. It signifies the official closure of the data collection and analysis phase.
Instead in the situation where the vessel is right astern ,can we alter to port as she will more likely alter to stbd as we are on fwd of her beam. So by altering to port we are increasing our chances to avoid collision.and plus increasing the speed would give us extra time to asses the action more accurately. Correct me if I am wrong sir. Thx alot.
The answer would depend on many factors like your means of detection. If by radar alone, then act as per 19d. Probably you are being overtaken then she may alter to port. So you may alter to stbd. If by sound signal alone, she would still reduce her speed and take all her way off. Again the right answer would depend on the surveyor.
Good day sir, can you also please guide what action to take when the vessel is approaching from stbd qrtr, and the sound signal intensity kept on increasing, and your owner vessel RADAR is not operational.
This is a tricky question which depends on the surveyor. Because Rule 19d specifies the action but puts the condition of detection by radar alone. However as you are able to determine risk of collision exists, an action may be taken as per 19d, avoid alter towards a vessel abeam or abaft of the beam with reduced time period in the sound signals. Also you are ahead of the vessel so she is most likely to go to stbd avoiding you thus port alteration is most effective. But remember that the surveyor is always right, find out his perspective and share if known with location of oral exam.
@@oralexammmdprep8110 the qsn was asked in Mumbai MMD, The answer what I can think of is...i will alter my course to port large enough and and increase my speed as long as it is my safe speed and keep the vessel on my port qrtr and maintain my new course untill the sound signal intensity starts reducing. Correct me if any corrections required please.
MGP (Magnetic Field Generating Pulse) technology and anti-fouling systems serve different purposes in the maritime industry. Here's a comparison between the two: Purpose: MGP technology: MGP technology is primarily used for marine growth prevention on ship hulls and structures. It helps prevent the accumulation of marine organisms, such as algae, barnacles, and mussels, which can increase drag and fuel consumption. Anti-fouling systems: Anti-fouling systems are designed to prevent or reduce fouling on ship hulls by using paints or coatings that release biocides, preventing the attachment and growth of marine organisms. Mechanism: MGP technology: MGP technology works by generating a magnetic field around the hull or structure, which is believed to interfere with the ability of marine organisms to attach and grow. Anti-fouling systems: Anti-fouling systems rely on the release of biocides from the paint or coating, which are toxic to marine organisms, thus preventing fouling. Environmental Impact: MGP technology: MGP technology is generally considered to have a lower environmental impact compared to traditional anti-fouling paints, as it does not involve the use of toxic chemicals. Anti-fouling systems: Anti-fouling paints can release biocides into the marine environment, which can have harmful effects on marine life if not properly controlled. Effectiveness: MGP technology: The effectiveness of MGP technology in preventing marine growth can vary depending on factors such as the strength of the magnetic field and the type of marine organisms present. Anti-fouling systems: Anti-fouling paints are generally effective in preventing fouling, but their effectiveness can decrease over time as the biocides are released. Maintenance and Cost: MGP technology: MGP systems require minimal maintenance once installed and can have lower long-term costs compared to anti-fouling systems. Anti-fouling systems: Anti-fouling systems require regular maintenance and reapplication of anti-fouling paints, which can be costly and time-consuming.
@@oralexammmdprep8110 great of ur excellent reply... thankyou.. actually I meant the comparison of MGPS technologies like cathodic protection, ultrasonic, magnetic , electrochlorination etc
