This is a local council matter, not a central government issue. The useless Tories are the ones that try and protect this sort of thing. Labour have already pledged to rip up the Green Belt protections in place so that more homes can be built, guaranteeing the orchard will be destroyed. As I said, planning applications are a local councils remit, so you should have voted appropriately during the local elections a few months ago.
Where I can see any scientific, topographic arguments for why they want to build a busway through the orchard? I was working as a surveyor for many years, planning roads and buildings and usually there are solutions without damaging historical or natural spots.
The CPPF presented an on-road solution thats a fraction of the cost with much less environmental impact but the Lib/Lab Cllrs voted against considering it. More info www.cotonbuswayaction.com. The GCP’s own reports show that ecological damage is immense, that there is no business case (BCR <0.48) with a carbon net GAIN, yet they plough on.
never seen the A1303 road very busy. Why do they need to build separate busways? Buses from Cambourne are also not full of passengers. So what is the benefit?
While the population goes on rising they all need to live somewhere & if you think Cambridgeshire is depleted you should try Hampshire! I have watched it systematically destroyed since I grew up in the 50's & the sixty's.Still best not mention immigration.
Why not mention immigration ? Almost a million visas issued to foreign students, workers and their families in 2021 and 45,000 illegal immigrants crossing the Channel. These tiny islands are being swamped.

Unprofessional, dismissive attitude of the GCP officers aside, the numbers simply don’t stack up. Looking at the CCC financial statements with an auditor is really concerning, not just in relation to the C2C 😐
