I'm a huge fan of arcade and console games from the late 80's to mid 90's. I prefer run-n-gun, action games, platformers, horizontal (side-scrolling) shmups, beat'em-ups and fighting games. I also get into retro-inspired modern games, so those may show up on my channel from time to time.
I'm hoping to achieve "1CC" (1 credit / 1 coin clear) on games that I get into and share them with the gaming world on my channel. Similarly, in the case of console games the goal is no continues used, i.e. no "game over" without beating the game.
On some games I may have a high-score focus, but most games the ALL clear is the main priority.
I strive to show strategies that can be used for other to incorporate into their game. The highest possibly video and audio quality is a priority, along with presenting games in the correct aspect ratio. TAS (too assistance), save states or cheats will not be used in any of the runs on my channel - all legit gameplay.
dude, you've found out the strategy about stage five like I did about oh 12 years. Watch my run. I use BG-01 STORM FORGEL. He's in my opinion he's the best. you're forgetting one thing though and that's trying to keep 2 helpers during the IWAO fight. Problem is you're playing the arcade which makes it extremely easier to you because you can destroy your shots with your gun. I pay the Saturn version and you can't do that. You really have to work your way around and get lucky. it doesn't matter get it anyway I let him self-destruct and let my score roll counter go. I intentionally suicide on stage four boss it's tough trying to intentionally suicide and have full meter bonus at the end, isn't it? Lisa is the easy mode for getting perfects. Keith, not so much. Nightmare is a bitch boss also. Crybringer is too tough for a 2nd stage boss. I mean, I'm just saying. Again, we're playing different versions. I play the arranged Saturn version. Watch my run from 2012. Also, what difficulty are you on? You don't have that listed. I'm playing on very hard and it looks like you're on normal from the enemy bullet speed. I have the world record with Keith.

Thank you! The intentional death was to lower my weapon level for the bonus round. If you have powered up weapons, they tend to destroy the crates too quickly before the maximum number of blue crystals have drifted out (for score maximizing).
Thank you for actually using the heavy barrel against the final boss. Seems like a waste to have a super-powered weapon and then never use it against the final boss.
yeah, definitely using the heavy barrel is way to go for the last boss. He's pretty tough otherwise, and it's really satisfying taking him out in literally 2 seconds. thank you for checking out my gameplay!

I agree, in several ways this game is a step backwards. I think this game only really appeals to the expert shmup players who liked UN Squadron but wanted more challenge and a deeper scoring system.

I remember this game from a vacation I took with my family to P.E.I. back in the late 80's... The resort was part of a really nice golf course and at the main hub of the resort there was a small arcade. Black Tiger was one of the games and I remember playing the shit out of it! That would have been the summer of 1989. I was 12 and going into grade 8... What memories!
Hi, I played this on the Switch console release of the game, but it is also available on PC via Steam. The graphics were given a slight upgrade for Switch since it came out later on that platform, btw.
25:29 That had to hurt. Excellent run, up until that point, which was 99% of the game. 26:43 You got hosed there. The boss' weapon sprite did _not_ reach you. Poor form, Data East. 👎 Are you not allowed to upgrade _both_ your shot and beam weapon? I've seen runs in which the player was rocking a more powerful blue beam.
yeah the boss death was cheap, I deserved the other one! This run should definitely have been no death but I was too mad at the first death to play anymore at that point. 😇
@@bubufubu my bad, I missed your question. I'm almost positive the version of the game in my video doesn't have an upgrade for the beam. I've seen videos where the beam gets powered up to blue, but think that is your main shot. The other button is like a 360 degree spinning shot.
