I'm very interested in the soda water canning. Did you store it and drink it later and if so was it still fresh and fizzy? Anything else you can tell me about canning soda water?
Some "pro tips" I've learned over the years: Turbo Yeast was designed for making ethanol fuel FAST (i.e. stressed out yeast). It's not very good at making palatable spirits. You can clean the packing in place with a vinegar run. But foreshots & early heads (which you toss anyway) do that also. You can get "neutral-ish" in 1x distillation, but doing several stripping runs & then a spirit run will make it better. And since you're making beer already, do a sugarhead on the spent grains (~8 lbs/5 gal water). Makes a fine whiskey! Especially if you invert the sugar. I have a Franziskaner whiskey that is getting pretty phenomenol after only 6 months on oak.
I wish I was still into brewing beer. The now Ex-W made me get rid of all my equipment because she didn't like my hobby. Wish I got rid of her first, 😂😂
Do you have a problem with your pro lid gasket coming off or leaking? I cannot get mine to seal and it always pops into the kettle. The lid also is a tight fit onto the kettle. Like it has to be pushed on as the lip of the kettle scrapes against the lip of the lid. I'm not sure if this is just a problem with mine or all. It cannot be used for distillation as it doesn't seal.
cant wait to watch your vids of using it. Im a brewer myself and have been looking at getting this. At this stage i dont want a big setup to run with my brewzilla. Just hoping to make a bottle every now and then so this would be perfect
One of may favorite recipes (and beers) - it's fun to try different yeasts on it, too! The Verdant IPA yeast makes it really dry and a little hazy - I called it Hazy Hog.
Here's a link to it. What type of system are you using it in ? www.morebeer.com/products/ss-brewtech-mash-recirculation-manifold.html?a_aid=PortlyGentleman
I didn't cover this but it comes with a power cord. Once it's available in the States it will come with a United States plug.. as is I'm sure with every market it's going to be sold in.
@@PortlyGentleman I’m looking to import one from Australia since it looks like they won’t be available in Canada for a while. Is it possible to use the Australian plug with a simple travel adapter, or is something else required because they use 240V in Australia?
The bubbling of the tomatoes is actually boiling... it occurs when the vapour pressure of the water equals/exceeds the ambient pressure. That's why water boils at a lower temperature high up in the mountains where atmospheric pressure is less than sea-level. In the case of this chamber vacuum machine, water will begin to boil when the pressure reaches 2.67 kPa (0.387 psi) and the temperature is 22 C (72F). Atmospheric (ambient) pressure at sea-level is 101.4 kPa (14.7 psi).
Just started watching your channel. Although your equipment is much more sophisticated than mine, you give a great viewer experience! You pack in quite a bit of information.
Commenting to boost the algorithm and because I love these. Also, I know it's an edge case, but any chance that brewbuilt X3 will fit in the RAPT fermentation fridge? Still happy with my Spike CF10 in there, but that band clamp around the whole body of it is eventually gonna give out and an 8" tri-clover looks niiiiice.
Nevermind, found the dimensions. Sadly just a bit too rotund to fit width-wise but fine height-wise. I resemble that shortcoming too, so no harm no foul. :D Beer looks amazing and since Pliny is a favorite on my rotation, adding this one as well.
Like seeing the Brewzilla in action. Taken me 5 or 6 brews in my 35L to get the process dialed in. Kegland's CIP cleaning head makes that process a snap.
I was looking at the recipe to brew this blind pig, IPA and notice 2 ounces of magnum at 60 minutes when you put this into BeerSmith it comes up very high on the IBU is that 2 ounces correct because I cut it down to 1 ounce and I have the same IBU at the end of the brew😅
I get your point. Having said that, competition breeds innovation that will benefit all of us. I'm wondering 🤔 are you using a Motorola cell phone as they released the first cell phones? 🍻🍻🍻
@@PortlyGentlemanmostly the calibration aspect. It was not worth banging out anything less than a whole batch because of the time & beer waste. It wasn’t a good fit in my brewery. Worth stating that my DF was an early V1, and I missed the pinch valve upgrade.
I know kegland is known for knocking off other manufacturers products, but this filler is probably some of the worst i've seen. It's a blatant ripoff of the duofiller/monofiller.
