Hi @Bryan i just got the TFN for my kid who is 7 years old and I want to invest $500 per month for next 11 years. I am planning to use CommSec app and open a minor account and use my kids TFN. Is this the best option? How about vanguard for kids?
Biggest lesson i learnt in 2023 in the stock market is that nobody knows what is going to happen next, so practice some humility and low a strategy with a long term edge.
Nobody knows anything; You need to create your own process, manage risk, and stick to the plan, through thick or thin, While also continuously learning from mistakes and improving.
Used Commsec Pocket to purchase ETFs.... but now I have an additional HIN to my COMMSEC share purchases and clunky COMPUTERSHARE is unable to add the additional HIN to include some of my ETF"s....... any tips? Need to register my TFN to my computer share ETF's....

Dose carry-forward automatically be used when go over the $27,500 cap when doing personal contribution? And for the “ Intend to claim “ when is the deadline ? I have not yet lodge my tax return yet , I did all the personal contributions way before July .
Not necessarily though there is a fair amount of overlap but that’s not necessarily a negative. Having a diverse portfolio is KEY; that being said my initial deposit of 90K has grown to over $650K in only just ten months :)
I lost a lot chasing individual stocks and I feel pretty stupid for not understanding how investing works. I have a double major in economics but I’ve been trying to make sense of the market. Well done on profits!!
Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don't try to shoot the lights out. I’m invested in equity index funds, ETFs and various high-quality stocks and use a CFA. On average, she takes 10% of earnings, but using Lina Dineikiene's system makes it much more hands-off. I conservatively follow her recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this has quite increased my prospects of making money.

your a life saver ;-; i been a resident all my life and still dont get it xD and last year i went to this community place that does free tax returns for people that cant lodge there own, and well.. it was a horrible experiance. i walked it to the room and it was a accounting class! and i was pretty much a project so the teacher could show his students what to do, was slightly traumatising since i wasnt expecting that and am a little introverted.
