Great video! I got the same reply from Simrad. I am selling my boat and would like to provide the buyer with the right belt without doing the repair. In the Mcmaster Carr catalog they have different belt kinds. What would you recommend?
My Simrad error read the exact error message!! I just got off the phone with customer service and they said I needed to replace my 4h domed radar. I watched this video and boom there it was a broken belt!! I just ordered the belt. I really hope this fixes my problem. I noticed when I manually move the radar it wobbles a little. Is that normal. Could be why the belt broke in the first place.
Thank you! I was getting the same error and was thinking it was my cable. After watching this video I decided to remove the cover off of my dome and BINGO.... broken belt. New McMaster Carr replacement is on its way. Great video!
2 questions: first, how can i know if i won the quota or how they notify me that. and second, where do you park when you go to a wma in case i want to camp and hunt for a couple days. apreciate your info and time
Log back into the lottery system at the link at the end of this comment. Go to your awarded permits section. Also for parking, you should try and look for designated parking areas because some areas are strict, but if your staying multiple days you want to make sure they have a campground because your not supposed to stay in the hunt area overnight technically. license.gooutdoorsflorida.com/Licensing/CustomerLookup.aspx?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADRiEz7QSqQu4nLaguVHdJWMNZnzz
Thank you. Got the error and thought Game Over. I had a 3g with a different error and Lowrance sold me the 4G for $400 years ago. I was going to open this up anyway and found the broken belt. It appears they buy rolls of belts and cut and fuse them. Based on how it was broken it looked like the fused section came apart. Before I watched your video, I used very hot glue I bought from Midland Supply. I glued the belt together and it works great. After I watched your video, I found the direct replacement then I swapped the belts. THANKS again.
Upper jaw can just sit on top of the lower jaw if you want it closed. Otherwise you can superglue them in place. Most plaques you can order online have a way to mount them both together whether open or closed jaw as well. They really just sit inside each other though. Hope that helps somewhat.
You just saved me a huge headache. Thank you for this video! Left the launch Sunday at 5am getting ready to make a 95 mile run and the radar stops working. I got all the same error messages you showed. Hopefully this belt fixes it 🙏🏻
@@LIVITOutdoors opened up the radar two days ago and BOOM there was the belt laying in the bottom of it. We were headed off shore about 95 miles and radar goes down as soon as we made it out of the harbor 🤦🏼♂️ your video was the only one I found with my exact radar and all the same error messages lol. Thanks again
@@LIVITOutdoors An actual SOLAS certified liferaft is the most important thing. If you can't stay out of the water in heavy storms, if you can't inflate it automatically within 20-30 seconds, then it won't be a good situation to be in. Most liferafts also have a hydrostatic release, which will automatically release the raft in case the boat sinks to fast for you to act. The SOLAS approved liferafts offer at least 2 independent bouyancy tubes, which means that it will continue to float with the max allowed amount of passengers, even if one of those tubes gets broken.
Well done bro heres a tip boil the skull in soapy water it lessens the degreasing time and when whitening wrap it in plastic and leave it for 24 hours before washing it off it will get tons lighter. Love the video keep it up. Im a new subscriber as well
Thanks I will try those tips on the next one. I’m no expert just know enough to spread some basic knowledge and thanks for the sub. I’ll check out your channel
Jim, I like you, your helping my channel grow, but it is a joke. If you fish in Florida you would know the ARS is far from endangered but fwc thinks they are apparently. Have a great weekend

Hey, great video! I’m putting together my ditch bag right now, and I am considering which life raft to go with. I like your idea of having a small affordable raft, but my only concern is how do you blow that thing up quickly in a distress situation. For example, if boat is sinking fast how do you have enough time to blow it up?
If I have time before the boat sinks it takes about 5-10 mins. It if not I’ll have my life vest and float in the water and inflate it there. I’m currently researching some sort of co2 cartridge inflater now for quicker results. Thanks for the comment. Be safe out there
