Glad you enjoyed it. I was considering posting another tomorrow for the deer hunt draw going live. Glad you reminded me! I looked on the map and have never hunted most around you but I know a little north is green swamp. State record buck was killed there in the 90’s I think. Fish eating creek, myakka river and dinner island are close to you. If you wanna take the drive and want a chance at bigger bucks body wise and potentially nicer terrain, camp blanding is nice and Osceola wma. Good luck!

Ya some areas are quota only which sucks but most are quota only for first 3 days then they open to the public.

Log back into the lottery system at the link at the end of this comment. Go to your awarded permits section. For archery they do daily permits that you don’t need a quota permit to draw just daily given out there but for muzzle and rifle, yes you need a permit.

Sorry just saw this but quits means they issue a certain amount of permits for areas for opening weekend. So there’s a quota, but after the quota weekend anyone can hunt the rest do the season in most wma. They all have unique regulations so google the wma brochure before going and read it.

Usually specific gates you have to use as well.

@LIVIT Outdoors ok I only got a quota permit for Ocala Pipeline unit and I don't see any gates anywhere, do I have to stop at a check station before I go? Thanks so much

Sometimes there is a sign in sheet and sometimes not. read the brochure and see if the map shows entry points. If not just go in wherever but most times they have specific areas they want you to enter and park in. They don’t want people parking randomly blocking fire break access and stuff.

@LIVIT Outdoors ok I gotcha, the place I really wanted a quota permit for I didn't get, they only give out 40 for there, but the Pipeline unit is 6,000. Looks like it says it's good for a couple months too. It does show some kinda gate at the far North about an hour away but seems like everyone just enters it from everywhere. It does specify on the wma brochure for the place with only 40 that hunters must enter through the gate but not the Pipeline unit in Ocala so I guess I'm good. What are the check stations for, looks like it has a gambrel to hang your deer, is there supposed to be a ranger there that checks your kill? Maybe I can ask him or stop at a ranger station and make sure I'm gonna be legal about everything 🤔Thanks
